I finally broke down and bought approx $60 worth of roses and chocolates. It was a pkg deal from ProFlowers. It will arrive tomorrow because she's only working half a day Thursday and there's no guarantee it'll get there before she leaves.

Normally I don't go the flower route because my wife has told me not to, but she has hinted at it a little more this year. I think she may just want them to show off in the office.

I don't care if your wife is Betty Friedan, she wants some gifts.

    I spent $300 on a scarf...$100 on flowers...$50 on chocolates...and a plane ticket that was $250 to visit her.

    Grand total: $700.

For those of you looking for a good price on a dozen roses, check out the stores on Fannin and Rosedale. Granted, they probably won't be set up as fancy as other pros, but if you're looking for a bundle of roses, that area's the place to be.

I got 4 dozen BEAUTIFUL roses at $13.00/dozen. If I wanted a vase, I could use the savings on a great vase from another store.

    But staying on topic,

I've been with my girlfriend for almost 6 years, and I'm just now getting her her first present from Tiffany's. It took a while, but I'm in that blue box club now!

Here's our (my) V-Day itemized statement:

-Cheesecake Factory meals: Free (giftcard to us from X-Mas)
    -Tiff's: around $200
    -2 Dozen Roses: $26.00

We're just going to have dinner at her place and watch the new LOST episode (HUGE fans). So free movie I guess?

A $300 scarf? Unless it's made from the the severed scrotums of the 1996-1997 Utah Jazz starting lineup and hand-sticked with platinum-coated stem cells, I'd say you got ripped off.

My wife asked for a Nintendo DS. I also threw in a couple dozen roses for good measure.

Haha. Well, my wife is closer to my age (31) than she is to 18. But I'm sure she'll take that as a compliment.

    Maryland.

Crap, I just realized that its not technically a scarf I bought her, the more proper term would be shawl. Rip off regardless.

    $0.00

I have a gig tomorrow night. I will surprise her at work by bringing Starbucks and some flowers though. She doesn't even know I have the day off.

Oh yeah, and I'm MARRYING her 2 days later, so she's got that going for her...which is nice. I guess. Depending on your perspective.

we're going to dinner at benjy's and that'll be $150 all said and done. we like that place though and haven't been in over 2 years, plus it's our first valentine's as a married couple so we figured we'd make an attempt to celebrate it. no gifts though...just didn't have time. we might wait til our birthdays (march and april) to buy and exchange stuff.
