Are you a Sig from SWT? I've axed you before with no reply...so ANSWER ME NOW DAMN YOU!!!! Anyway...I am encouraged to see the youth of today are keeping up healthy drinking habits. Keep it up guys! Just don't drive damnit. Oh and if you choose not to drink...keep that up to. It helps balance the rest of us out. I don't get hammer timed as often as I used to. So when I go out I make up for it and get Peee---lowed. When I drink I drink like I am 16.
No, he's a Sig from "TSU," and has been since Monday. No seriously, I don't know, I just wanted to make fun of y'alls college...
drinking almost everyday after work lately and going to sleep. gibsons- gin martini with the small onions. dirty gin martini- olive juice. red wine- mezza luna. can't stand beer unless there's nothing else to drink.
Normally no alcohol during the week. Maybe a beer or two. But on friday I got loaded since 12 years or so. I also do hash. Since two years or so - I get problems on falling asleep on sunday if I also drink on saturdays. Therefore I cut it to friday. But hey, no rules w/o exceptions.
Drink every once and a while. Always have a 6 pack in the fridge....BudLight or Corona. I love beer like I love the Rockets!
Used to be an alcoholic... now i hardly touch the stuff (though i did get blitzed two weekends ago in Austin)
just depends...a couple of glasses of wine with dinner about once a week...if i'm out at dinner with my wife (on a date!) then usually i'll have a drink or two...a beer or six with friends watching sports... not a big drinker actually...
I probably drink too much. I say that because I seem to consume more than my peers, yet everyone says they can't tell when I'm drunk. I've had kegs and kegs and kegs of beer in my life, but I don't drink it much anymore. When I do, I like a coors light after a hot day of working in the lawn or a Guinness if I'm out at a pub. Liquor is more safe in my house than it used to be, but I still enjoy a good single malt scotch with a splash of soda. Good 100% blue agave tequila is never safe for very long around me. White wine sits in it's cooler until my wife opens a bottle. I'll drink what she doesn't finish so it won't go to waste. My drink of choice right now is red wine, and my two favorites right now are the 1999 Simi Alexander Valley Cabernet and the 2000 Rosemount Mudgee Hill of Gold Shiraz. Both of them are rated a 90 by wine spectator, and I can usually get either of them for under $15 a bottle.....we get 'em by the case. If I open a bottle in the evening, I'll have a couple of glasses.......unfortunately, two of "my" glasses will kill a bottle. Man I love that stuff!
I drank a lot in college. Now days, I drink maybe 3 or 4 times a month not counting gigs, and I rarely if ever get totally wasted. If I'm playing a gig, I'll drink a few beers in between sets. Just enough to keep me relaxed and loose while not losing control. The rest of the time, I'll drink at Astro games, concerts, or just hanging out at a friends place. I don't usually do liquor anymore except for margaritas with Mexican food or if we run out of beer (rare). I drink Heineken for the most part. I'm a social drinker because I'm kind of shy around people I don't really know. A few beers usually takes care of that. I quit drinking alone, though. That's not good.
Can I get an "AMEN!!!"? I drink more than I should, I'm sure, but not as much as I used to. Always a social thing now, never (or rarely) get drunk - beers with the guys watching sports, hanging out at a bar or whatnot. This summer was rough, beach/fishing/camping/boating/tubing trips pretty much every weekend, which naturally lend themselves to excessive consumption of beer. I'll drink just about anything, not a big gin/martini fan though. Bourbon & coke (probably should switch to diet), vodka tonic, screwdrivers (breakfast of champeeens), margaritas, etc...my new favorite, which I highly recommend to anyone who can find it, is a vodka from Poland - Zubrovka - flavored with a native buffalo grass - look for a bison on the bottle. Best vodka I've ever had, mix it with a little bit of apple juice or tonic/lime. If I'm just unwinding after work or having a drink with dinner, it's usually red wine - merlot, zin (I highly recommend Seghesio, very good, around $15), chianti, cab. Not a big white wine fan, but if you're eating seafood it's kinda necessary; 2 chards I'd recommend are Mont St. John & Bonterra, both very good & inexpensive.
I'm like DoD and Ace in that I don't drink much. As a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I had a drink but it had to be close to 2 years ago. I just never could get a taste for beer. Now, wine coolers were different but Mello Yello has always been my favorite drink. Also, add the fact that my grandfather (dad's dad) died from alcoholism when he was 55 and that is reason enough, for me, to not drink. I'll drink if it is a special occasion but that is about it now.
I drink often but never a lot. Most I'll have on an average night of drinking is about 4. Just like to be moderate. Most nights its either 0 or 1. I like good beer though, I can't stand the cheap stuff, although if I'm being cheap, I gotta drink Shiner. Best beer for the money. I've been drunk about 3 times, all after 21.
In high school I barely drank at all...in college it sort of kicked in, but still I was never that heavy...just on the weekends, or once I turned 21, then wednesday nights at the CopperTank were always kickin. Since I moved over here to Seychelles, tho, I drink more often, tho still not much volume unless on the weekends. Maybe because there is not a whole lot to do here otherwise. They only have three beers here -- Seybrew, which is locally made and quite good (much like XX), and then EKU, which is German, and Guinness. Usually stick with beer because when you go out here, liquor is freakin expensive as hell...a rum and coke will cost you at least six dollars a pop. where as beer is a more manageable 4.
I went a year and a half before I broke down and had some alcohol with a girl I'm dating. I'll have two or three "sissy drinks" with her every now and then. Getting plastered is fun, but it's too embarassing afterward to make a habit of it.
Drinking definitely tappers off as you age... I am such a lightweight when compared to my college years... I never used to drink wine and know, I can't get enough... When I'm down, I eat, drink and be merry...
