I have a Tag Heuer. Mine was $1,200 several years ago. I haven't worn it in years but it's a great watch.

I don't like wearing watches... the ones I do have I've beaten the hell out of.

I'm a watch enthusiast so I'm willing to spend more for a quality timepiece.

My favorite daily wearers, both > $500:

Ya that's the Tiger Woods edition

There is a modified version of that one with day/date in black, brown, or silver. The cool thing about these watches is that they have a deployment buckle so you can get a few different straps, which provides for a different look.

Most of these high-end watches appreciate. Whether it be a Rolex, Tag, Breitling, Omega, Montblanc, etc.. you'll always at least get back what you paid for the watch and it'll be more most of the time.

Got several watches, all under $300.

-Tissot PRC200 (my favorite by far, cost me around $200 and everyone always thinks its in the 'k' department). Black face, black leather wrist band.

-Audi TT automatic watch (a gift from my uncle who was a designer on the first Audi TT, apparently its pretty rare, not sure how much its worth). Black face, brown leather band.

-Nixon "the player", once again, not expensive.

I just bought my "most expensive watch" last week though. I needed a sportswatch so I went with the Meister Ambassador. I ordered an additional rubber wristband to put it on. It looks kind of like a replica of an Audemars Piguet, which at might age seems a little out of reach.

That's not true at all. Watches are not investments. You will only find vintage pieces and limited luxury pieces that might sell for more than you bought them. The only watches that hold a decent amount of their value are Rolex, and the ultra luxury brands like Patek Phillipe, JLC, etc. As a brand, Omega and Tag do not hold their value. One of the company's watches however might hold a decent amount such as the Omega Speedmaster.

I'm not talking about retail value. You can buy these watches at much lower than retail. Like I mentioned, one could have bought the same Tag watches for around a $1000 less than a year ago. My brother bought this watch for $2200 online about a year ago.

You can't find it for less than 3k now. Retail is $4400.

The Tiger Woods edition watch I posted earlier in this thread is selling for about $2500 with the perforated leather strap. I plan on getting the crocodile leather strap for $295. That watch in silver with the metal strap is selling for $2900 right now. Retail is over 4. My cousin bought the exact watch for $1400 four years ago. He also just sold his 04 Rolex Submariner for $5500. He paid $3700 for it. Oh and it sold in one day.

You aren't doing enough research if you can't sell your watch for at least what you got it for.

Then buy it with the stainless steel band. It's usually more expensive.

Amazon seems to have the best prices right now. A lot of sites will pull up on a google search that have dirt cheap prices but they'll show up as out of stock.

The market for used Rolex watches is significantly larger than the market for a used Tag or Omega watch. Outside of Rolex and iconic watches, mass produced pieces are not really going to hold their value. A used Tiger Woods chrono is selling on eBay right now for $2065.

And that person probably bought it for less than 2k.

Great, but when there's no actual demand/market for that particular used watch, it doesn't really matter what you paid since nobody is buying.
