    Own a home (with a mortgage), no significant debt (besides my school loans I just took out for about 10k, and that mortgage), am 25, some money in the bank (more than most my age), and going on my second week-long Carribean vacation in two years. Grew up at the low end of lower middle class.


    We don't make an astronomical amount, but we don't spend much either.

    In other words, very content with where I am.

    I saved only 10% of what I made unfortunately. Next year I plan on saving 25%.

    Not entirely true regarding the suits. He actually wore Zegnas for a while before moving on to a Chinese high end suit maker.

    I'm a self employed college student. Quit working minimum wage at a fast food restaurant because I was pulling in more money on my self started business than working a months worth. Did over 30k in sales but profited around 15k. I have 9500 in the bank to show for it. Feels great to be financially stable as a college student.

    It was true for a very long time. More recently his daughter Susie convinced him to buy better clothes and a new car every three years. The point is the same though. Aside from travel, his tastes haven't ever been relative to his wealth.

    I wont say how much money I made, but I will list my expenses per month...

    $2107 rent
    $1850 student loans
    $548 car payment
    $800 airfare

    I spend about $5300 a month, after taxes, just on this crap.
