I only use a credit card if I really had to...I hate them and sometimes they don't go through. On weekdays I carry around 10 to 20 dollars and on a weekend I carry between 100 to 200 dollars. Its for emergency and you never know when you will need them.
I usually withdraw about 100 clams from the bank of the Mrs. every week or so......but I mainly use my credit cards. I have a check card and checks, every once in a while I have around 20 bucks, I don't like to carry cash because if I have it I spend it.
Peter: "You might want to bring some cash with you, cause you know some places don't take credit cards!" <Midday street, girl selling lemon-aide.> Girl: "But mister I need real money, I can't take a credit card." Peter: "Oh I see, cash only, eh, no paper trail, what are you selling? Reaper, crack, smack, horse, ex, shrooms, dust, meth? In my neighborhood, I don't think so!" <Peter knocks down the stand. Girl cries and runs away.>
I don't like carrying a lot of cash on me either. And I get a lot of flack for that from my father. But then again he is from a different generation. ima, I used to work at a credit union and I discovered that a LOT of old people do not like to use atm cards, check cards, and credit cards. Did you ever get the same feeling when you worked at your bank?
