Very simple question. I wonder it for a long time

He got magical fingers. This year he picked up Von Wafer. He shines. Now wafer plays extremely well. We could have him on the court anytime when needed. He selected AB who got lots of potentials. Lowry might be a star if given chances

James White will be the next?

I mean how he finds something unknown? I am always wondering. Anyone could enlighten me?

    Thanks

I wish someone would do a documentary on Daryl Morey. I wonder what his days are like as a GM.

Regardless of this message board loving Wafer, bottomline is that Wafer was a great pick up by Morey.

He calls me daily for tips. Apparently my Yahoo NBA fantasy formula for evaluating which players to pick up translate well for the NBA too :D.

But he doesn't do much else, and per minute wise, he took the mose shots on entire Rockets team, yet his TS% is only #5, that includes his one time incredible hot shooting stretch.

When the board thinks him as the best thing ever happend since sliced bread, he becomes very overrated.

I still remember the days when this board voted Jimmy Jackson as the MVP in one season instead of Francis or Yao, and how excited everybody was when Mike James was hitting his shots in his first several games with Rox, yet they forget to notice those players were not playing in a team concept.

Same thing happens to Von Wafer now. If he doesn't getting wiser on his shot selections, let's see what happens next.

considering there is no cost, yes, definitely a good pickup. Morey is not overrated, Wafer is.

Just like how numbers and statistics create the foundation for amazing architecture and technology, they can also be used to create good basketball teams.

Morey is like a hitter in baseball that doesn't hit a lot of homeruns, but has a very good on-base percentage. That's how I'd describe how he works. The hope is that all those singles he keeps hitting eventually add up to "runs" (i.e. playoff success).
