6 years of changing my major around before finally settling on something (PR & Advertising) that I wasn't remotely interested in.

Fast forward several years until I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up (RN) and now I'm in nursing school. I spent ~2 years taking my pre-reqs before entering the program.

So, the end result will be roughly 10 years with two bachelors degrees, but only four years for the one degree I'll have that I'll give a damn about.

Technically...6-1/2 years...double major in Kinesiology and Political Science.

I was planning to be a high school soccer coach (Kinesiology) that taught government (Pol Sci). I dropped teaching towards the end and realized that I had just enough credits of each to get the double major.

Realistically, it took me 4 years. I had to completely retake my first 2 years of college where I had amassed a gpa of 0.9.

well, you were Music Ed.... 7 years isn't that far from normal. :) Mine's going to take me 5 years even with already having a college degree.

Very similar. I learned you actually have to try to get a gpa that low.

5 years for a BBA in marketing. I didn't have one semester my last two years that I took more than 9 hours. Ah, those were the days...

    Kind of.

I had one class in Fall 2007 (auditing), and they let me start my MBA before I got my BBA. So realistically, I had about a third of my MBA done by the time I got my MBA. But, I only like to show my graduation dates because it makes it seem more impressive.

I feel you: I had one semester my sophomore year where I failed 15 out of 17 hours. I went to jazz band and concert band, and that was it. I didn't bother withdrawing or dropping. I just quit going, kinda like Peter in Office Space but with a lot more weed and groovy tunes.

I was high for the vast majority of my college experience.

4 years for undergrad plus 2 years of graduate study in math (did not get my masters though). After working for a year or so, I went back at night to get an MBA and that took 4 years (had to take some prerequisite classes plus I never took any classes in the summer).

Blows, doesn't it? All those ensembles you have to take that take up all your time and you only get 1 hour credit.

i never wanted to go to college but went as i figured it was better than getting a job. :p took me six years to get a clue. started in fine art, partied too much and blamed it on my chosen direction. then i went heavily into the liberal arts and figured i'd go towards law. took some film and photography courses as electives and, eureka!, i had a way back into my inner freak. i studied abroad, in spain, soon after and this solidified my desire to get back to art. so, being close to a spanish degree, i finished up (this was at UT by the way) and applied for grad school. spent two years getting my MFA in photography at the school of visual arts in NY. that was 15 years ago, been here ever since.
