We are currently 34 wins. We have 14 games left. How many wins will it take to make the playoffs. I predict 46. Suns will finish 43 wins max ( even harder with injury to nash) Utah will finish 43 wins max ( Coach and best player gone, second best player injured) Memphis will finsih 46 wins max New Orlens 45 wins max Portland 47 wins max
It's going to be pretty difficult. 11-2 most likely should be enough but even 10-3 won't get it done IMO because I don't see Memphis losing 6 more times. I see 4, maybe 5 losses for the Grizz.
we can just go 14-0 to make sure, then 16-0 for the championship. I think I'm really dreaming, alread 2am est..
we can go 12-0 this team reminds me so much of the 94/95 rockets that went all the way i dont know why i think this maybe its because i am actually buying into Bill Worrell bs speech he does every home game about how this team reminds him so much of that team just like every year
Can't believe there's only 14 games left. I remember getting pumped up for the season opener in la like it was yesterday
People can say our players compare well to the supporting cast of the 94/95 team. Too bad we don't have someone to compare to Hakeem.
Change 10 or so of our previous losses to wins and we're as good as in! Wait, what? Too late?? Oh well, mediocre seasons always pay off in the NBA...especially when they come in 16 year spurts! No playoffs, no high lottery....just WINNING (about half the time)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll probably have to win the rest of our games this season to have a good chance of getting into the playoffs. We still have to play Boston, Miami, San Antonio, and Dallas and beat them all. If we drop just one game our chances of getting in diminishes significantly. It's going to be a longshot.
What's been our longest winning streak this season? 5 or 6 games? And, we're going to finish 14-0? Even without Boston, Miami, San Antonio, and Dallas in the schedule, we still won't win out. The Rockets are their own worst enemy. EDIT: The best we've done all season over a 14-game stretch is 10 wins. If we can do that here, we'd finish 44-38. We could lose the 4 tough games if we were perfect on the others. But, even then the OP says we'd have to steal one of those tough games too.
In the East however, it looks like 35 should be the magic number. At this point Im just cheering for Phoenix to get in.
I am with you on 46 gets you in. All of the teams running for the last playoff spots have difficult schedules down the stetch. The Rockets need to play better at home to get the next 4, the team needs to get the next four but the way RA is giving pt to Miller it will cost the team. Scola needs to get back in order to really have a shot at the playoffs.
vs Charlotte vs Boston vs Utah vs Golden St. @ Miami @ New Jersey @ Philadelphia vs San Antonio vs Atlanta vs Sacramento @ New Orleans vs LA Clippers vs Dallas @ Minnesota Sitting at 34-34. 14 games left. Will take perhaps 44-46 wins to get in so, gotta go somewhere between 10-4 and 12-2. It's going to be tough. Then you go back and look at the schedule and say coulda, shoulda, woulda. Look at the 0-5 start Early losses to Washington, Toronto, Charlotte Game vs Chicago(up 5 with 56 secs left, Lowry/Miller miss FTs in final ~24 secs, Rose hits game tying 3, game goes to OT, Rockets lose) 0-5 to start the new year L to the then 12 W-T'Wolves at home Throw in recent losses to the Clippers and Suns(We'll call the Suns game the "Brad Miller game") and also getting the short end of the stick vs SA but what's done is done. Of course if they somehow, someway find a way to make it in, that is all forgotten.
