Just imagine how many he'd have if Baker didn't set him out quite a bit. if he hits like 68 or 69.. he will wish hehadn't have been not playing thsee few games ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Thats also why Pedro's accomplishments are head and shoulders above the rest of history. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. My Mockumentary atheistalliance.org
You can make a pretty decent case for Bonds being the greatest baseball player, ever, in terms of how valuable he's been to his team. The only way he's going to get the credit he deserves is if he breaks the record or wins a World Series. The former seems more likely, so I hope it happens. All those people who declared Griffey the player of the 90's were loco. Bonds hit more homers, for a better average, with a better slugging %, a better OPS, and more walks in the same period. How can you even compare the two? ------------------ Lacking inspiration at the moment...
If Bonds breaks the single season record, you can pretty much, etch it in stone. Not even Griffey can maintain that pace and the pressure of the media. Wait until he(Bonds) closes in on Hank Aaron, then you'll see pressure! ------------------ Anger is a weed. Hate is a tree.
Pedro's accomplishments are head and shoulders above the rest of history. I wouldn't go that far. He's among the best given the conditions under which he's produced these fantastic numbers. However, I'm not sure that even when you adjust for context that Pedro is better than: Old Hoss Radbourne In 1884, Radbourne went 59-12 with a 1.38 ERA and struck out 441 batters. Pretty solid guy. Plus I heard he died of syphillis, so that's cool.
