Same here. It seems like I go months with the same blade. I shave a couple of times a week.

    eww acne.

I can't dry shave, actually i can't really shave in general. my hair doesn't grow past 1/2 an inch but its thick and it hurts when I shave, it feels like its pulling my damn hair out.

*Sigh* and electric shvers can't give you a close shave.

You guys that get to shave only once or twice a week are lucky.

I generally have to shave every other day. Sometimes I'll go an extra day but my beard gets pretty itchy and uncomfortable during the extra day. It's a bit of a pain. Trimming and edging is what takes the most time -- I'd just take it all off but I've been accused of looking 8 years younger than I actually am, and I don't like that so the goatee stays.

I don't shave. Someone does it for me... Reason being I don't go for a clean shave, I keep a 1/2 inch beard which needs to be shaped/styled on all corners/sides.

Also, it makes me feel oh-so mafioso.

3-4 times... but that's because I shave once a week. It really depends on how much hair you have.

I only shave once a week, so my blades last me months.

I would love it if I could get away with shaving every other day. I have to shave every day and I still get 5 o'clock shadow late in the work day.

I can usually get a blade to last about 2 weeks. I shave with the grain and then again at a 90 degree angle to the grain. I keep the blade clean and blow it dry when I am finished.

Electric razor here and I rarely use that except to clean up my cheeks and neck. I either sport a beard or some stubble all year long so my little beard trimmer/clippers gets all the work at my house.

Shaving with a blade sucks so bad. Even when I did keep clean shaved I used electric razors since I was about 20.

Real men have a shave event / razor ratio less than one (1).

I use four cartridges per shave, due to the manly metallic nature of my beard.
By the time I am finished, I already have a good shadow going where I started.

Only a delicate girlyman would need to change blades so often.

I use a rusty machete. I splash on some whisky as aftershave.

For those who have electric razors---

Can they get as close a shave as a blade, even if you have naturally thick stubble?

Thinking of switching (I have thick and stubborn facial hair) but have always assumed it wouldn't be as close a shave.

Funny, I thought it was only women who went 3 or 4 months before changing blades and dry shaved (sometimes in the car). I use a platinum coated safety razor that stays fairly sharp for several months.

I have Schick Quattro blades and they usually last about 15 to 18 shaves. How the hell is it that yall only get 3 shaves out of it!?!?

I think it depends on the the coarseness of the hair. Also, the quality/brand of the electric shaver. I can get a shave that is nearly as close with an electric razor. The fact that it is not quite as close is more than made up for by the ease of use and lack of cuts and irritation.

I have a waterproof, rechargeable norelco that is a POS and was probably over $100 new (it was a gift). Meanwhile, I have a $15 no-name brand one that has a cord that will shave close enough that it appears/feels like I have shaved with a brand new blade.

Really, why don't you just get a cat to lick your beard off?

'Zactly. A dry shave in my case would leave the razor in a quivering pile of metal shards.

It depends on what kind of blade I'm using. Right now I'm using something in between a Mach 3 and those little cheap Bic razors in terms of quality. I'll use each of these less than I would a Fusion or Mach 3.

For me, I could use the razors longer, but a fresh razor is just one of those things I place a premium on. I'm sure the people in this thread that use a razor for 3 or 4 months have goofy things they enjoy spending more money on than average. For example, I had a roommate that would use a razor for several months, but would spend tons of money on premium coffee beans that he ground up at home.
