Because they were only exposed to it for a short period of time. One of the concerns about the future is living on the moon days/months at a time, not short term.
Here's a cool pic of one of the rocks the Apollo 17 moon buggy drove up to -- courtesy of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter . <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sRSpntQ-VtY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sRSpntQ-VtY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Even if you were only exposed for a short time, it would still do enough damage to the dna. Enough to at least caused some form of cancer. Well at least you are being civil about this. Unlike some other troglodytes who are more than happy to throw insults.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_threat_from_cosmic_rays I wish I could say I am better than them. Unfortunately, I am also more than happy to throw insults at you. MORON.
Ah right, wikipedia is your source of information. Another troglodyte who regurtitate info without knowing. I guess I shoulda known there are somethings best left alone and not to distrupt the so called event.
Not one of you can answer my questions without regurtate info from google or showing footages from you tube. Damn useless bunch of r****ded fools!
We have until 2012 to discover the truth, then the world ends. If the really did land on the moon, that's our only escape from Earth. Of course, if the world is destroyed, there may be millions of asteroids from the destruction. It would make it hazardous to live on the moon.
Sure the moon landing was faked just like the Holocaust. But don't go around and tell that to Jewish people - they get a little annoyed when someone tells them that!
source [rquoter] Radiation doses measured during Apollo were significantly lower than the yearly average of 5 rem set by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission for workers who use radioactive materials in factories and institutions across the United States. Thus, radiation was not an operational problem during the Apollo Program. Doses received by the crewmen of Apollo missions 7 through 17 were small because no major solar-particle events occurred during those missions. One small event was detected by a radiation sensor outside the Apollo 12 spacecraft, but no increase in radiation dose to the crewmen inside the spacecraft was detected. [/rquoter]
What you did was just info that you googled and happened to find on wikipedia about gamma radiation. You failed to explain about long term damage to the DNA due to exposure of the Sun Solar Flare and cosmic Ray. Keep in mind we are talking about the year 1969 where most technology was at its infancy and has not been perfected. This is NASA who happens to lost the original footage and taped the actual event on some cheap video camera. The real morons are people who do not question such examples and pretty much accept everything the media, government or any other people tells them. These are the type of people that should not breed. And I really think you are the guy in that picture.
This guy is obviously trolling. His stuff is just to good to be genuine. Unlike DaDakota who just wanted to name drop and pretend he had a telescope more powerful than the Hubble ST in his house.
You know, I've seen that "Morans" pic before, and it's the first time I've realized he's wearing a Cardinals shirt. I do not think this is a coincidence.
I suggest you turn it to Discovery right now and watch "When We Left Earth." To discredit the achievement these people made is just a slap in the face to the men and women who risked and lost their lives over the history of the space program.
