the only mc grady i will miss is the one that play aginst the dallas mavericks that took the series 3-0
o come on that is absolute bs, none of you can say you do not miss watching vintage tmac...13 in 35? dunks on everyone? sick dishes....we aren't talking about the injured tmac of the last few years, we are talking about the athletic monster scoring mcgrady this is just further proof that all of you who answered no are not thinking with your brains, i don't know what it is you are thinking with but GET OVER IT
I only miss him whenever Artest tries to take over the game offensively. Even when he succeeds, Artest's outside shots and forays to the basket are never as pretty as McGrady's were.
since he's out for the season/year, i'm less interested in the Rockets to be honest. I still check if the won etc, but i'm not reading the chronicle articles, blogs etc everytime they played. So to answer the question yes i miss the healthy T-Mac
I definitely miss watching a healthy McGrady...it's been quite awhile. Do I miss him since he shut it down for the season...not really. I would like to see him continue to support the team and sit on the bench and cheer.
I miss watching vintage Dream. That's about it. Maybe Clyde running the fastbreaks. The occasions when Horry took off from the arc and dunked like only few people in the league could. But McGrady? We never had the 2002 version of McGrady. We had two seasons of A- McGrady. He's been going downhill the last 3 years. There's a 98% chance that he will never be an All Star again, let alone a top 5 SG. This isn't Playstation, we can't import an unlocked 2000's Eastern Conference All Stars roster McGrady into these Rockets. It's not happening. Let's move on.
anybody can shoot the ball. Winning is a different thing, and you can't rely on this guy when it comes to that matter.
Yeah, people are taking it personal, even with this simple question. Tmac was AMAZING. Unfortunately, that's past tense. Still though, I would say 90% of the people who voted no didn't answer the question the way it should have been answered. There was really only one right answer.
I miss the one in Orlando....I do not miss the current one by any means. Here is a nice mix that I love watching <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FTar1dsnkEw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FTar1dsnkEw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Bottom line: the guy never won anything. Go read the thread about Weisbrod. T-Mac's the kind of guy who will put up 35 points in a losing effort and then say "What more do you want?". The bottom line is I'd rather see the role players/bench scoring and the team winning then watching T-Mac looking spectacular is loss after loss.
The first two years Tmac comes to Houston is something to watch. Too bad Rockets doesn't have good role players back then. It's just sad thinking about that.
I miss watching T-Mac, as for the ball movement I guess its fun to watch. It is fun to win, but we won plenty with Tmac (obviously I am talking about regular season games as this squad hasn't shown what they are in the playoffs). I remember many games where Tmac would pass it off to his teammates and those guys would refuse to shoot or pass it right back. Many times I saw this in the playoffs. It's easy to be complacent and rely on TMAC. (after all few can argue his skill) When he is out of course people are going to step up, it only makes logical sense after all.
I don't miss him at all and yes I understand the question. I have never liked him and felt he was always and still is a punk. I only tolerated him because he had joined my favorite team and as a fan, I do try and support every player on the Rockets. I missed Carl Landry (and I am so glad he's back) more than I have missed McGrady. One thing I won't miss is his huge salary. Just think - we bring someone else in and pay them over 20 million (assuming that the player is worth it), do you honestly think that we would be getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs every year?
