I think Mike Miller is a better bet as a Russell-like small forward than Mo Pete. Mo Pete is like having another Shandon (though this isn't that bad). You wouldn't think that 1-2 inches makes that much difference, but it sure appears that small forwards under 6'7" by and large don't work out that well as regulars at that position. Plus if we get a smallish SF and play him with a smallish PF in Kenny or Los--we are such an undersized team.

As for tanking, from a "reformed" tanker I am thrilled we lucked into the 9 slot for those ping-pong balls. I am not complaining, we beat Seattle, Utah and the Suns late--just to name a few--and Boston and Denver slipped by us by letting the Gizzards win the final game. If winning against the top teams does nothing more than give Mobes some encouragement to stay put, it was worth it. Because of the Cavs, Nets and Hawks incredible late season consistentcy, it would have taken a whpping 6 extra loses just to move down 3 spots, so I am cool with where we are.

For the record, I would not trade KT and a #9 pick for Miles. For Kenyon, Fizer or Mihm(?), yes, but not for Miles or probably anyone else.

    DREAMER said it exactly.

I would make that trade and be VERY happy as long as we do get Fortson.

Are the sources on this board ever actually legit though?

Heypartner, I assume you are referring to Gerald Wallace? You probably didn't notice this, but he's going to stay in school, not declare. So he ain't going anywhere in this year's draft. [IMG]

Cabbage, I knew you would bring up that McGrady is more proven. You have to remember the price though. By trading up to obtain Miles we don't have to give up Mobley which I think he is huge. Also, I'm banking on that since Miles is a hard-worker he'll work on his outside shot. I could be wrong though, as this is an assumption.

I understand your too many penetrators arguement. However, its very rare that 6'9" guys that can handle the ball. This guy's potential is thru the roof and I think we should take the chance. At worst, we got a highlight dunker.

BTW, Francis3, Miles outside shot is worse than McGrady's.

I've heard that this deal has a legit chance.

9th pick + Kenny for 5th Pick (Miles)

I'm assuming immediately after this we sign Fortson.

Any thoughts? Remember the giving up quality for quality concept.
