Exactly! There really shouldn't be an argument over which is better, because the 2 games aren't aiming for the same thing. Live is more fast paced (ala LA Lakers) and 2K is more fundamentally sound (ala San Antonio Spurs). If you want fast paced, go for Live. If not, go for 2K. It's just that simple. END OF ARGUMENT!!!!!!
rent Live2004 yesterday. OMG, the players rating is definitely biased: KG 97 Kobe 97 Duncan 92 Shaq 92 T-Mac 92 Francis 86 Yao 75 ...... Graphis is good but the game slows down significanly (I mean the animation) when you double the opponent or bunch of players hustling for the ball... I like 2K3 alot more than Live2004.
I agree that live can be more fun sometimes because u can run around like an idiot and then dunk the ball. But then that gets boring after a while and since theres no realism...its not too challenging either. That is why i always prefered 2k series, but live says that they changed that this year and made it more realistic. i havnt been able to rent it yet but can someone tell me if they changed that part? I just want to get the best all around game.
Against the computer it's realistic, except the midrange jumpers. NOONE CAN HIT THEM. Against another player it can turn into a cheesefest free 4 all. I was playing my brother today, he was using the Kings I was using the Rockets. By the second quarter i'm killing him by 30 points. Than the cheese starts raining down. Can't back down on him in the post or he flops and unlike the NBA you get called every time. Peja drains 6 threes in a row :monocle: Webber can't be stopped. On the bright side he's an idiot. I figure out he is just driving the ball, does the pro hop and trys to dunk. Like a magician I magically halt his comeback my flopping. It was hilarious. He just kept driving his way in and get called for the offensive charge. Bibby, Webber, Christie and Jackson all fouled out. It backfired a bunch of times too. I'd be standing there holding my ground with my feet set and boom defensive foul. Quite ridiculous.
As I remember, Francis's passing is 80 something, one of the highest, that makes no basketball sense...hey I'm not a Steve-basher, I'll give him a 65-75. but 80...come on.
i've been playing it a ton since i got it. i dump to yao, then if he has good position i take it to the hoop or go for a turnaround j, if the double team comes quick i pass it back out or to the open man (piatkowski can drain 3s) for the 3. the game is much better than last year's game, but it has flaws like the slowdown (every friggin game it happens) as mentioned. overall a good, fun game, but..... ESPN(2K4) will be better i'm sure. i'll buy both like i did last year.
