I, for one, came here because of Yao, although I don't consider myself YOF (that's debatable though... :grin. Then I grew to love this team and the organization. Watching and enjoying (not so much sometimes...) Rox games has become part of my life. So here I am - still following the Rox as my favorite NBA team, even though Yao is not on the team anymore. Just curious. How many of you guys are like me?
Actually watching role players develop is much more fun because you know what you get from your superstars!
i came her because i wanted to rag on kelvin butterfingers cato back in the day...been banned a few times. I've learned from my mistakes
Well, I honestly didn't know what I could get from Yao. Watching him play is often frustrating - fronting is the first thing comes to mind. But one can also argue he was not really a superstar... But I agree. Watching role players grow is definitely more fun. I still remeber fans reaction when we traded for KL7. Now he's in all-star discussion every day. That's one hell of a journey. Of course the DD crow eating feast is icing on the cake...
I didn't come on CF b/c of Yao but I did start following them for Yao Ming when he was drafted. I was the only guy in a small town in Louisiana following the Rockets. Gradually became a fan of the whole team, not just SF3 and Yao. Still follow them like crazy up til this day. Will be bleeding Rockets red forever.
Let us agree that he was half a superstar...due to half of the time he played....Even stars have their weaknesses....It's for the coaches to counter that.......In the JVG days we didn't have a rebounder and quick pf next to Yao most of the time. Then came Scola.
