You know sometimes I worry and wonder about how some of us process information in our heads or whatever we use to think.

Has it occured to you that those so called close games we lost could have been been blowouts under another coach? My point point, it is you duty to task your brain to thinks through and not just half-baked and one sided deductions.

When you have a brutal Scheduel and you're franchise player goes down with injury, i think any coach would pretty much struggle.

i say yes, simply because i think any other coach could get this team to score more than 85 points per game, even without tmac. no way should we have lost to orlando, new orleans, boston, or chicago. so that right there should have us at 8-8 which is much more managable than 4-12...

We would have been close to .500 with a different coach.

    No

It is a players league. (unless you have a big conflict between star and coach)

The only way we would have a different record is if TMac had been healthy from the start. We would have already worked out the bugs and won about 5-7 more games.

It is all about talent and chemistry in the NBA

Van Gundy hasn't changed since last season or the season before, he is what he is.

What has changed is that we lost alot of chemistry with Sura out.
We haven't got the same lift off the bench from Deke
    TMac injured (worth repeating)
We miss Sura's fire and rebounding
Wesley's surgery and age are really hurting him defensively
    Our shooting % is horrible
    We still lack rebounding inside

Once we get some scoring on the perimeter (better %)
And once we find some chemistry

    things will turn around

It is troublesome that Stromile is a flat out bust so far (we needed 15-9)
It is troublesome that Wesley is not playing as well (neither is Deke)
It is troublesome that Barry has been out.
And it is going to be very hard to replace the chemistry we had with Sura.

Other than all that we are doing great.

Technically you are correct but its not like JVG didn't have a lot of say in who is playing for the Rox. Honestly do you think CD on his own would've brought in the current crop of players?

It Has occured to me that those so called close games we lost could have been been blowouts in favor of the Rockets under another coach....

So it is your duty to task your brain to think through the whole scenario and not just a half-baked one sided deduction.

It's no secret that Van Gundy has a very complicated system that takes a very long time to learn. Some players may never learn it. We got off to a poor start last season for that very same reason.

If we had a different coach with a more player friendly system that does not take as long to learn and adjust to, then yes, I do think we would have more wins than we currently have. Not necessarily a +.500 winning percentage, but better than 4-12.

Strangely enough though we didn't get off to such a bad start in the first year of JVG with the team with Francis which was supposedly a lot more boneheaded and incapable of playing under JVG.
