From day ONE of Destiny's Child, could just tell in her eyes they were trying too hard to make her into something. And to my chagrin, they more than succeeded....She's the most talented but I liked every other member in all 70 variations of the group more than her. Its too stressful to me trying to avoid all pop music for finer tastes. I learned I didnt turn into a mainstream puppet allowing a Fergie song to finish before changing the station. I heard that poker face song by Lady Googlerux at the baseball game last week. Heard the 1st minute of it on AI a few weeks ago...then fast forwarded through the rest of it. I've heard that Fray song because someone told me about it. Other than that, I haven't heard any of the others. Hell, I haven't heard of most of those "artists" come to think of it. Is there really a guy named Flo Rida??? WTF?? And who is TI? Doesn't he have a dating show on mtv? Of course I've heard of M&M, but didn't know he had a new song. What is the deal with songs that are by _____, featuring ______. Usually the "feature" is just an annoying rap in the middle of the song. Hasn't that been played out?
I switched to SIRIUS about a year ago, so luckily I don't have to hear this kind of crap on FM like most people. The only song I've heard is the Eminem one.
I have 2 daughters. I have heard ALL of those songs, possibly 3 times per hour in the last weekend. I am NOT cool. Enough said. You COW that song? Somehow, I am NOT surprised Ewww... cochino "he came..." did someone clean the mess afterward?
I have only heard one and that was that awful Lady GaGa song and that was only because I was watching American Idol. I have heard of Flo Rida and I know that song was played on a results show for AI but having learned my lesson with the godawful lady gaga crap, I didn't listen to it nor did I listen to Miley Cyrus's song. I haven't listened to pop radio in many years and I will be 36 this July with 2 kids. I mainly listen to CDs in my car by artists that many other people are not familiar with like Japan, Ultravox, Talk Talk, etc.
I've heard 7 of them. I feel like I should listen to trash-pop because none of my other friends do. And when we go to trivia night 15 years from now and they ask who was the artist that sang "Poker Face" in 2009, I'll save the day by knowing the answer; and we'll win free food.
I wish people said their age before saying how many of these songs they have heard. I'm in my mid-20s, and I don't think I could come up with one friend I know who wouldn't know at least one of these songs. It's damn near impossible not to hear one if you go to any bars, clubs, or have your radio station on the top-40, mainstream pop, or mainstream rap stations. I doubt my dad has heard any of them though.
