Do you really consider most of the sci-fi movies on the list good?

It seems to me that bad sci-fi sells, and that's what they keep making. Good sci-fi usually bombs ("What's going on? You mean I have to think during this movie. Screw that - bring out the lasers and aliens!!!").

    28, BTW

I just saw Twister after all these years. GREAT flick. Good special effects and decent acting. I loved all the twisted humor that the group of tornado chasers had...

In fact, 1996 was one of the best years for action flicks in recent memory. Twister, The Rock, Mission Impossible, and Independence Day...

47 - Haven't seen Ghost, all of T2, or Beverly Hills Cop.

Highly distressing that I've seen a much greater percentage of these than I have of the AFI's top 100 list.

    There's 13 I haven't seen:

The Lord of the Rings movies (3)
    The Harry Potter movies (2)
    The Lion King
    Matrix Reloaded
    How the Grinch Stole Christmas
    Bruce Almighty
    My Big Fat Greek Wedding
    Signs
    Mrs. Doubtfire
    X2

I will see X2 at some point, and I'm sure I'll catch Bruce Almighty on cable.

I tried to watch the first LOTR movie the other day on cable. I couldn't make it five minutes.

I think I have seen only 10 of these.

I should go to the movies more often!

I've seen 48 of 'em. The only ones I haven't seen are My Big Fat Greek Wedding (ugh!) and Rush Hour 2.

All fifty. Wow. That's a lot of time considering I have seen most of them at least five or ten times...

I have seen all of them except Finding Nemo, How the Grinch Stole Chistmas (that is the Jim Carrey version, right, because I saw the original), and Toy Story 2.

The first half of the first LOTR movie is a bit slow. The pace picks up after that.

I don't have the patience to wait an hour and a half for the pace to pick up.

    I've seen all but...

    9 Finding Nemo $339,714,367
12 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone $317,557,891
23 Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets $261,970,615
24 Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas $260,031,035
    31 Bruce Almighty $242,589,580
33 My Big Fat Greek Wedding $241,437,427
    50 The Exorcist $204,394,584

The only reasons I've missed these are because I REFUSE to watch Harry Potter, 9/24/31/33 are still a little new and hadn't gotten around to them yet, and the Exorcist just freaks me out.

Lol! Typo...meant to cut the list previous to that one. Have seen it, and have even studied it. FIrst 20 mins were the best thing I've ever seen on film, in terms of visceral experience.
