compare his # to those of the other big men and post players, and you will see. i never meant to compare his to the pg's, but it's also noteworthy that yao is the focal point of the offense who touches the ball way more than, say, even dhoward. yao has butterfingers at times. it's a known fact. and as a rockets fan i hope he can improve on that. but we're arguing in circles. this thread is about the bs offensive calls yao gets in the game.
Yao average 3TO per game and i will say he average: 1TO - Because of offensive foul 1TO - fumbles with the ball 0.5TO - 3 second violations and 0.5TO - pass out from the post and get steal! We the rockets fans will think Yao is badly officiated but Magic and Suns will think Dwight and Shaq are as badly officiated as well and i don't think there is much can be done at this point(since its a guard league now) for the referees! What i can can't stand though is i can't believe professional referees can't differentiate a flop and a legit foul. There were talks the last few years that the league will take actions against flopping but looks like so far there aren't any actions at all. In soccer, the referee will issue a yellow card for flopping why cant NBA do the same? Maybe the referees are all blind mice!
What I can't believe is some posters here are still not 100% on board with this thing I called the "YAO PHENOMENON". I have been watching the NBA, hell even the ABA since the 70s. I have been watching Yao from the beginning since he came to us from China up until this last game. If it's just one or two refs who happened to dislike Yao I can understand that, but how do you explain the consistent mistreatments Yao has been receiving from most of the refs over these past 7 years? Some posters keep on using the argument" Big men are hard to officiate" I challenge these posters to find tapes of the other centers and compared them to Yao's, that will put an end to that argument. You guys remember in his heydays, Shaq used to lower his shoulders into defenders and he will get a foul call in his favor, if Yao were to try that, he'll foul out of the game before you can blink! For whatever reasons, I know the NBA had it in for Yao. I don't want to speculate, I just want hard facts, I know an independent investigation will shock a lot of you guys. The betting on games scandal didn't surprise me when it broke, it will not surprise me if they found something about Yao!
