No he wasn't. LeBron was in the league then and Duncan was still a stud.

Kobe was robbed in 06. He later robbed CP3 in 08.

1 MVP is about right. His teams were mediocre in a good chunk of his peak.

Kobe has some of the worst clutch time statistics in the last two decades of all-star level players. I find it funny how people see him make a couple buzzer beaters and suddenly selective bias kicks in.

Zero. He was never the best or most valuable player in the league. His whole career you had better players like MJ, Shaq, Duncan, Lebron, and KG outplaying him. He was just insanely overrated so people looking back think he was better than he really was. He honestly wasn't any more than just a less ridiculous version of Russell Westbrook.

Another vote for 'Kobe should have had 0 MVPS'. Let's remember he didn't even lead the league in scoring back in the year he got handed the MVP trophy. What else does he provide?

Love him or hate him, the combination of athleticism, skill, and creativity he displayed on a basketball court was pretty extraordinary.

Harden missed out on a mvp by just over a rebound. The only reason Westi won it because triple double sounds better then 29-11-8

Chris Paul was ROBBED the year Kobe got MVP. They used the criteria I hate: "CP3 is young, he WILL be back and get his later". And later NEVER came (it usually never does). Its a copout.

CP3 was basically like 2 time MVP Steve Nash to HIS team at the time, maybe MORE when you factor in DEFENSE. But they had to give 1 to Kobe to fix their previous Kobe omission.

There's been these years where they flip flop between worthiness and symbolic MVPs. Later they went "youth is ok" for MVP (which I'm fine with) and gave one to Derrick Rose. But to spite Lebron possibly. This year theyre going back to "youth is ok" with Giannis. He might be MVP, but then again theyve snubbed Harden before, so he might need HIS "make-up" MVP.

Agree, and I dont really like Kobe

I remember the '14 year Harden emerged on Rockets where "Better than Kobe" talk came up. I looked at Kobe's stats and saw he was averaging or bettering Harden's numbers for like 12 STRAIGHT SEASONS, AND Kobe was putting in defense unlike Harden.

We saw what awesomeness looked like with Harden, and neglected to see that was Kobe's BASELINE season over a decade. Kobe just put in extended work.

Anyone that knocks Nash is insane. He was carrying teams with Tim Thomas to the best record in the regular season. Making Average Joes look like superstars. VERY WELL DESERVED MVPs...

Kobe was 8th seed at best...
