I think they'll definitely beat the Lakers and the Celtics.

Lakers: Lost to both the Kings AND New Orleans. We've beaten NOH TWICE. As much as like the Lakers (Lakers fan here!), their playing style right now is not good at all. Pau also got a piece of him bitten away, probably won't play big on Sunday.

Celtics: Lost to the Jazz! Their 10-game winning streak ended. Unless tkey play with the vengeance of ending the Rockets' winning streak, they shouldn't be too hard.

The problem I see right now is that the road games are a bit iffy. I think they'll give one, take one.

So....4/5. That's also enough to silence the critics who say the Rockets' win-streak is nothing but easy games.

Why worry about it? The Rockets can lose two of their last 17 games and still hit 60 wins. I'm fine with that.

Seriously though, if the beat the teams that are out of the playoffs, that's 8 wins, leaving nine games against playoff teams and Denver. Unfortunately, five of those come next week. The other four are:

    at SA
    PHX
    at Denver
    at Utah

If we just manage to win 4 of the tough 9 while winning the other 8, that's still a 57 win season... which was unthinkable two months ago.

I obviously hope we win all 5, but its going to be real tough.

Vs. Lakers: If Pau is out it will help ALOT. Kobe and T-mac will cancel each other out and the home crowd will put us over the top. Result: W

Vs. Celtics: I see this game, along with NOH and PHO, as the toughest. I really hope we win cuz the game is TNT and Barkley can eat more crow. Result: W

@Hornets: Rafer talking trash last time we played these guys won't help. If West is out we win. Result: W

@Warriors: We match up better with this team lately. We'll need Landry. Result: W

@Suns: Suns are starting to gel. Results: L (cuz we're on the road...hope I'm wrong)

I know it's tough but we have to win it all. People say we'll get back to earth if the streak comes to an end. So we better keep undeated for the week though it sounds crazy

Let's say 3. I hope we finally will play 2 halfs of good basketball. We just have to do that cause next 5 games will be very tough to win.

I'm going to say we win 3, with our wins coming against LA, NO, and GSW.

Boston even without ray allen is still a team that's quite deadly and Phoenix is starting to really figure their team out now. I'd be reasonably satisfied with 2-3 , but I feel we can really beat the above teams for 3.

    I couldn't help but vote 5...

but realistically, I have a weird feeling we'll win 3 of 5, losing to NO and PHX because those are the second nights of a back2back. NO wants revenge against us and especially Rafer. PHX can be a matchup problem with Shaq and Amare. The Rox must be pretty drained already. It has to be tough keeping up this level of intensity for 2 months. However, I do think that once the streak is finally over, a big burden will be lifted off their shoulders and they will come back to play great ball.

I would love for the injured players on LA or NO to come back "too soon" and aggravate the injuries(just enough to miss the play-offs - nothing sinister) and keep them out of the postseason, all to try to do something as petty(for them) as ending a streak.

we will beat lakers because pau gasol will be out
    --
we will beat hornets because we've already beaten them before without that much of a struggle
    --
we will beat warriors because of what adelman said about what the rotation will be with yao being out:
Coach Adelman said he would evaluate the rotation over the next few games.
"We're going to find out," Adelman said. "It depends on who we play. If we play a team like Golden State, it will be hard to play (Mutombo), but I'm not worried about that type of team. We can play small."
    ---
we will beat suns because they are still trying to get it all together
we might not beat celtics but we still have a good chance since we only lost by 4 during our last matchup with yao in but tmac was out, we'll see how tmac can handle them without yao

    I choose 2, why?

    1. Look at these recent 2 games vs Hawks, bobcats(first half). I feel we sort of back to old JVG team. stand to watch Tmac, Rafer, head,... can not hit.
Tmac try very hard to drive in. Jumper selection... FT...

    2. If we can play in the level we beat Honets, I will say we will at leat win 4 but now, I don't feel in that way.

tmac really don't need to handle that much ball, let rafer do it. that's the key different between Win streak team and Lose streak team.

1/2/3 - Media starts bashing the Rockets
4 - Media makes Rockets in contention of Conference/NBA Championship. (Barkley will still hate)
    5 - Rockets become legend.

I believe we will beat LA, GSW, and Suns. Hornets will be trouble if CP3 turns turbo (which he does every single night) and TMac can't follow (he has to be 3rd quarter TMac not 1st Quarter). Imo, Celtics will be the hardest team. By stats Houston is a top 2-3 defensive team but there is no doubt that the Celtics is #1. If we keep on pulling Charlotte/Hawks style shooting, we won't win5.

    My estimate:

    Impossible: 1
    Probably not: 2, 5
    Most likely: 3
    Less likely: 4

Bustin' out religion on us, huh? ;) Realistically I'd say 3. No predictions on what games, but man I can't wait until the Laker game tomorrow! Is Landry back tomorrow???

considering that the rockets have as much confedence as ever and are used to playing with out the big guy; where as the lakers, botson and horents may not be in the same mentality ill keep surrporting the rox!

the only factor that i would put against the rockets is that they have to play 5 games in 7 days!

I don't see them winning the any of the 2nd games of the back-to-back games. They just won't have the legs or energy. Unless, a miracle happens and more all-stars get injured.
