FYI Morey acquired the 2009 scrubs to have cap space in 2012 (as their contracts all expire then), not to give them a second chance.

I've never liked Kevin. The way he plays can't take over a game or win many games.

no ellis was a better player before the rule changes too. fans on this board just don't see it for some reason though.

I say keep him, you probably can't get anything from his trade anyway besides a longer contract and if he loses us games, I am fine with it since I believed going into this season after the Lockout it would be a throw away year.

Yes, he has his issues. But, he is just a rental (last year of his contract) that can score. Yes, the TEAM may not work as well with him (that is okay for THIS season). We can run the same sets as we would with Morris with him, that could only help with the development of Morris in the long run. He has "CRAZY TALENT" PLUS, maybe just maybe he may change his ways here in Houston (I really do not believe this but there is always a chance and it good to dream).
I do not see the T-wolves giving up on Randoph just yet for they gave up a lot to pick him up from the NYK's (Curry contract against their open cap space). He too has "crazy talent" but the main differnce is I think he may be coachable.
Funny we need to trim the roster not add to it. At the / after cut Thabeet and Flynn

What would we be trading him for? I would refuse to trade him for Kwami Brown but would consider trading him if the price was right.

So why are the dbags still getting the calls that martin is no longer getting? you take those fts from wade and his pts per game would go down by 6 or more. I don't under$tand.

also,I do think Martin should be traded. Maybe the mavs have another 8.9 trade exception in them. He would be a great second option on a contending team.
wade by himself could only give the heat a mediocre record and the number 2 pick in the eastern conference, yet Martin is supposed to carry us to the playoffs? that's crazy talk. Martin is the least of the problems for this organization. Really hope Maury can turn it around some way some how.

ughh, may 2009 seems so long ago.

Martin needs to drive more despite not getting the calls. Right now he is just a spectator in a game

Kevin Martin was brought over because it was one of the most efficient offensive scorers in the NBA. He had a true shooting efficiency that was sorely underrated, and need very few shots and opportunities to get his average. Due to that, on a good team you could use him to totally maximize his time on the court and still get him off the court to hide he deficiencies on defensive quickly.

However, with the way that is now not getting to the free throw line, he no longer has the same efficiency at all, which was his main purpose. Part of the lack of free throws is due to the way officials are referring, but I also feel that part of it is due to the different system with spacing and cutting lanes. In RA's system, with more moment and passing, it pushes pressure on the defense to be constantly reacting, as a result you can still initiate the sequence with your movement but the contact is still initiated by the defender, warranted a foul call. It is a trick of the eyes of such due to the offensive players and ball continually moving and the rules that you have allow them to do so.

This system does not have much movement at, or at least the players are not executing it at all. As a result, the player with the ball and offensive players have to force the action and truly initiate the movement, which contrasts the passiveness of the rest of the offense. As a result, the appearance is that the offensive player is creating all the contact and no call is warranted.

Anyways, it boils down to that Kevin Martin will not be the player he was before in this type of system unless the offensive sets drastically change. You have to look to trade him if possible, but I highly doubt he would be that attractive to any teams this year. Maybe next year when he purely an expiring contract.

My main gripe with him is that he is not hitting 3's like he used to.

Alright, not getting to the line, fine. He's getting open shots off Lowry's PnR game and he is not converting. What happened to "elite shooting"? Now I lost in 3PTM last week in fantasy ball and Martin does not seem to care at all. AT ALL!

    Why all the bashing?

K.Mart is a top five sg easily. Refs assistance or not.
    1. Kobe
    2. D.Wade
    3. Monta (sg/pg)
    4. Manu (even though he's injured)
    5. K.Mart
    6. Ray Allen
    7. Joe Johnson
    8. J.R. (China)

Especially with B.Roy retiring. Not to mention him and K.Low have above average chemistry they compliment each other quite well. K.Low drives majority of time meanwhile K.Mart floats free throw extended keeping his man honest with his shooting touch. He may not play consistent top notch defense but when necessary he does. Prime example last nights game in ot. I'd keep him shopping him doesn't make sense it depreciates his value. Now if the phones are ringing for him that's a different story if the offer on the other line is improving our team now & moving forward.
