In Ireland I often told people I was from Texas when asked where I was from with no further question. I also noticed when I was wearing my Texas Longhorns T-Shirt I was pretty popular out at the bars and a surprising lot of Irish and others would yell, "Hook'em Horns" and a few wanted there pictures taken with me. OTOH though I did have someone pull over in Dublin to yell "Go Bears!" when I was wearing a CAL shirt and a guy bought me a Guiness when I was wearing a Minnesota shirt.
