It's the last part of his game to improve.

Every off season he has came back with a new weapon that he's perfected.

One year it was becoming the "man".

One year the post game and step back.

This year is distributing and the 3pt shot.

All he has left offensively is become deadly from 3.

I'm predicting now. Next year will be the best season he ever has and he becomes super efficient at this same level of play.

Something like 49/39/88 almost 50/40/90 club.

appreciate it. everyone who sees my posts on this board knows that I get too hype sometimes. that's my biggest flaw. so If I come back at things too hard or don't take jokes well at points just know that's my personality and I don't mean it seriously lol.

    Thanks!

Its great to be optimistic, but if i had to say we are still a few pieces away.

1.Another Superstar or elite distributor: PG would be the dream here

2.A legit big: We need better rebounding/defense presence then what we currently have

that's true. but the point of the original post is that HARDEN is capable of being the no.1 top dog/leader/alpha to steer the ship on the way to titles.

we'll see if it happens. sports is too unpredictable. injuries, free agency, refs, and so many other things change outcomes but I think what plowman was trying to say is that James Harden is worthy of us believing in him

although hell no on the PG. ball is best in harden's hand. it'd have to be a wing or a bigman IMO. HARDEN is the best pg and elite distributor in the nba. he led the nba in assists?

I'm right there with you and Plowman in agreement about Harden being a generational player. I don't put too much stock into a bad game like game 2. He's human...many just expect him to perform like a superhero every single game regardless of conditions, circumstances and contributing factors.

However I will say given the Rockets 1-1 position so far, it would go a LONG way if Harden can lead the Rockets to a 3-1 lead by clutching these next 2 home games. This series needs to be won in order for him to take that next step of greatness.

I'm all about getting a beast of a big! If you're gonna run with a stretch 4 to leave the lane open you gotta have a beast down low. I love Capella, but he aint the guy to leave on an island in the paint...

Lol, I just posted the same thing as you posted. Agreed.

Harden demand/commands the most respect from defenses including Lebron. If someone could verify a stat regarding this, I'm willing to say Harden is schemed for far more often and severely than any other player.

That makes it that much more challenging for him to do what he does at a high level, and it's remarkable when I watch it happen more often than not. Even when he plays like "garbage", his presence is still a threat on the floor, kinda like the Ryno decoy effect, except Harden is way more dangerous.

So when people complain about Harden walking up the court, I don't have a problem with it. I'm fine with him conserving energy considering the massive load and responsibilities he has. He's great and this Franchise and fan base is blessed to have him.

Ok so you're the armchair GM, who would you trade Harden for right now?

I'm with you, Plow. He turned a corner and now he's a leader. I really like our chances.

Never mentioned anything about trading and your premise is just stupid considering we are on a basketball forum where you can make this statement for half the posts here.

You complain so much about Harden. Let's hear it, who currently would be a better fit on the Rockets?

It's all good, man! it takes all kinds to fill the freeway (or Clutchfans for that matter - lol).

As one of the resident cynics, I would throw out the following fwiw....

I joined in 2006... but have been a Rox fan since the early 80's.... so my jaded perspective is not without basis...
i watched Phi Slamma Jamma lose in the finals... how, I still dont know...
I watched a potentially championship team get gutted by drug suspensions...
    Thoroughly enjoyed the B2B championships!
I was thrilled when we added Barkley... we know what happened there...
Elated when we got Pippen... now its Scottie Quitten...
Optimistic with Stevie Franchise and Yao...
Certain we'd win it all with Yao and TMac....

so as you can see... enjoyable championships - but plenty of heartache otherwise... so while some of us may not be as yippy skippy and ready to make bold declarations, doesn't mean we arent diehard fans that love our team... just a little more wary... and a little more cognizant of potential pitfalls..... lol :)

I would rather him improve on the things I've mentioned explictly.

I think one full off-season of Harden shadowing Bev's conditioning routine would solve a lot of problems.

Harden has the skill set to run this offense and win a ring.

He just doesn't have the conditioning. It's really that simple. The Rockets sacrifice too much for him to run pg full time such as not having a 5th player on offense when he doesn't have the ball I'm his hands or constantly having the ball walked up the court which often leads to the bench pushing the tempo and having to get back into games where the starters **** the bed. They also give him too much leeway on defense. If he wants to be a full time PG he needs full time PG conditioning.

haha right on! You've been in it longer than me. I've always been a fan. My first memory in life was being 2-3ish with a baby olajuwon jersey on after the championship years. my dad was always a huge fan. I really became a watch every game diehard in 2009 though so I missed out on a lot of the heartbreak. I saw yao and co beat portland and then saw yao get injured :( and then watched every game of the 14th overall pick years and have followed the harden era super closely.

The longer I post on clutchfans the more I realize how badass this community is. I'm happy to be a part of it and 99 percent of posters here really are true fans and accepting/welcoming people at heart.

I will continue to get hype at points. We are all emotional involving the rockets because we all care. cynics, believers, haters, lovers we all just get emotional because of the rockets haha. Thanks for welcoming me into yalls community!

I am aware of all that rockets history that you mentioned because of my dad. he is a diehard and always tells me stories about those years.

Ok but given Harden's physique and build up, I just see him as a strong guard. I don't see him built for high paced full time cardio. I can see him getting worn out that way. Some players are built for the fast paced cardio like Nash, and others are just strong tough players that can take a lot of physicality in the half court set. I think Harden is the latter mold.

Haha for a minute i was wondering who you were replying too then i remembered that i put two posters on ignore. It has made clutchfans so much cooler.

Cynicism, doubting, sarcastically mocking can be cool and even correct sometimes. But hating, disrespecting, and name calling isnt. You are probably replying to iso dude or cheke lol. Iso dude probably. Hes a hater for sure
