Shooting 40% from the field after 4 season in the playoffs as a Rocket isn't anywhere near perfection. Man, so many of these posts make me question my own sanity. I must insane to believe that Harden has underperformed his whole career in the playoffs as a Rocket.
Oh another one of those 'FG% means absolutely nothing' posters. How can a sane person say that missed shots don't mean anything. The more missed shots, the easier it is for the opponent to start their offense with the defense half set. There are many reasons why you don't want to rack up a high volume of missed shots. Harden has been missing shots a lot and I'm sure many of those missed shots translated to easier opportunities for the opponent.
You can joke about him all you want, but keep in mind that Jopatholic is ClutchFans' Miss Congeniality.
Sure it's not completely useless but it is a horrible barometer of efficiency. Fg% is only there to determine efficiency. Not amount of misses leading to defensive rebounds. By law, the more 3s you take the lower your fg%. Harden is struggling from deep, whether that is slump or injury, and it is dropping his fg%. Especially since he attempts around the same amount of 3s as 2s. He's shooting .514% from inside the arc. His efg% is .449% below his norm but again slumping and this is still pretty good. His ts% is .572% which again is below his norm but still pretty good. I'm in agreement that his efficiency has struggled. He doesn't have the lift in his shot probably because his ankle. He's still playing very good ball.
It takes balls/courage to go on a particular teams fan site and declare their best player is great and is going to win multiple titles for them.... ok.... lol
With all due respect...and I do mean with ALL due respect, you've got some damn nerve. I bet you'll be the main one slobbing him down after he hits the game winner tonight. Smdh you need to show some damn respect sir.
We're not blessed with a 4 headed Dragon, or a 3 headed dragon. We've pretty much got King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table so Harden has to go 2011 Dirk for the remainder of this year and he'll cement his status. It's going to be tough because the Warriors aren't going anywhere and the Rockets have to play perfect basketball to beat them 4 out of 7. Hope he comes out with his beard on fire tonight.
Harden is shooting bad from 3. He has been almost all season. Him shooting 25% should be more proof for him to stop shooting so many damn threes, but I don't know why he does it. He needs to work on his shot in the off-season. It's bogus that he's so bad. He's never going to stop launching 8 threes a game, but he could at least learn how to stop taking heavily contested threes or pull up threes. At least. Geez. That being said: 49% of his shots this post-season have come from three. Of course he's going to have a super low FG%. I'm surprised his 2P% isn't lower after going 1-7 at the rim on Monday but it's still at 51%. Game 2 really brought down his efficiency and I usually never have a problem with Harden's finishing. He's always usually near elite there, but he just kept missing lay-ups. I don't expect that to happen again but I don't know anymore. I don't think Harden is going to raise his 3p% above 32% this post-season. We'll be lucky if he comes back to 30%. He's just been god awful at shooting threes. I have no faith in any of them going in anymore. It's been like this season January.
have you seen the responses in this thread? All everybody is doing is joking. You and most posters are clowning OP and now you are sarcastically making fun of my comments here. this dude is a 99er. He's had the same account since 99... That must mean he cares about keeping a good reputation and staying a part of this clutchfans community. He stuck his neck out there in front of the whole clutchfans community on this one. OP is obviously inspired by what he sees in Harden and isn't embarrassed/ashamed by his view on it. It's so much easier to be the cynic than the believer. You leave yourself open for heartbreak, disappointment, and gratuitous shots from posters like you when you make an OP like @Plowman did OP knew that people would respond like this but did it anyway because he truly believes. Yes that does take a hell of a lot of courage.
I like Plowman... I wasn't clowin on HIM at all.... Props to him for being so positive and enthusiastic! but courageous on this? C'mon now... courageous is going to a trailer park with a bullhorn and saying "Walmart sucks!" lol
i get it, you're clowning on me. carry on bro. instead of focusing on the emotional thrill/journey of a playoff run you just want to trivialize everyone's emotions and take gratuitous shots at me like a sarcastic ass. yeah that's fine. keep going. maybe you aren't a true rockets fan if you don't recognize the emotion involved in this
