Rumor is that if McNair is released, then Kerry Collins will be signed...as a backup to Volek

VY is carrying a clipboard for at least one season if not more.

They say are worried about pleasing fans - in the long run. Ive seen so many picks in different sports and all the people who get sooo upset or happy about them when nobody can really see into the future. It's a joke.

 You don't think the Texans have dared to be great by taking Mario?? You think taking Mario was the 'safe pick' and taking Bush was the daring pick??

Or maybe, JUST MAYBE, they actually thought Mario was the better player for what they needed? I know that sounds silly, but I'm just throwin' it out there....

I went to the last Oiler game played in Houston, I was a big oilers fan, once they left town I never rooted for them again. Go ahead, if you want to go root for the titans over the Texans, don't come back. I hate bandwagoners.

no option for those of us who never left the Oilers ...

the Titans/Oilers have always been my team. drafting VY merely reinforces my loyalty.

I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste, a flannel for my face
Pajamas, a hairbrush, new shoes and a case.
I said to my reflection, Let's get out of this place.
Passed the church and the steeple, the laundry on the hill
    Billboards and the buildings
Memories of it still keep calling
    And calling
But forget it all I know I will
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
    What's been going on
    Now that you have gone
    There's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
I'm at the carpark, the airport, the baggage carousel
The people keep on grabbing, ain't wishing I was well
I said, "It's no occasion. It's no story I can tell."
At my bedside, empty pocket, a foot without a sock
    Your body gets much closer
I fumble for the clock, alarmed by
    The seduction
I wish that it would stop
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
    What's been going on
Now that you have gone there's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
I bought a novell, some perfume, a fortune all for you
But it's not my conscience that hates to be untrue.
    I asked of my reflection,
Tell me what is there to do?
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
    What's been going on
Now that you have gone there's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered

And what kind of franchise has the Saints been? They're annually considered one of the worst franchises in sport. They've made the playoffs a whole 5 more times than the Texans with 1 win...IN 40 FREAKING YEARS! You're all acting like the Saints are the new Patriots or something. They're terrible. They will remain terrible. They're going to get a chance to add Adrian Petersen next year, too, because you can never have enough RB's.

Winning cures all ills. That's what it's gonna boil down to.

I was a die hard Oiler's fan who stopped following pro football after they and I left Houston. I didn't think I would ever really follow an NFL team again unless their name was Oilers and they were playing in Houston. However, after watching the championship game last year and considering the possibility that the Texans might draft VY, I felt my first real spark of interest in becoming a fan again. That spark is now dead.

See my post in DaDa's thread. Feel pretty much the same way. I'm bummed. What spark there is has become a tiny flicker you can barely see.

This is what happened to the last guy that called Mario Williams a "tiny flicker"...

You have to give the QB credit for at least attempting to throw the ball with his butt-hole.

Looks like his butt to me! :D
That's my interest that's flickered, not Williams. I hope he proves me wrong.

The Titans were my 2nd favorite team behind the Texans, VY is icing on the cake for me.

And for those that say "you're not true fans" if you like the Titans, you can eat me. I wanna watch good football, no more 2-14 seasons w/ record # of QB sacks, last place defenses, etc...The Titans had a bad year as well, but as you can see, they are willing to make the big moves to get better for the future.

I'm sure everyone on this board has hatred for Bud Adams, but to be absolutely honest, he owns McNair and the City of Houston right now. If VY turns out to be the QB he can be, there is no telling where this will end.
