sorry but Schotland is an independent country. Schotland, Wales, north Ireland, and England are part of Great brittan (or united kingdom). But they are all different countries just like Ace and i already said. They share a queen but they are different countries.
Just 6 USA Mexico Canada Israel Egypt Austria I definitely want to travel the world more....I've got the cash and the passport, I just don't have enough time right now. My folks, God bless 'em, take a yearly trip abroad every spring since my Dad retired in the late 1980s. I'm insanely jealous. They've been to China, Japan, all over Europe, Australia/New Zealand, and all over North Africa and the Middle East. They left for Spain and Portugal last week. When I start travelling abroad, my first stop will be Greece. I have a cousin who has lived there for over 20 years. She and her late husband used to run a cafe in Athens. After he passed away, she closed the cafe and she is now a private chef that works special functions at embassies, museums etc. So at least I'd have a couch to crash on.
Let's see, I've been to... Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Brasil, England, Austrailia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Philippines and I think there's more, but I can't remember... My favs are Thailand, Brasil and Austrailia...
If we're counting Texas and Scotland as separate countries then I'm up to 19. I'm going to go ahead and cout California as another country since it does say "Republic of California" on the flag so its 20 for me now!
so people are counting it that way. No wonder there aren't many who haven't been to at least two countries. (This whole Texas pride thing is kind of amusing for those of us who didn't grow up in Texas. Other states don't go around making such a big deal about themselves.)
Just 16. Canada Mexico Argentina Russia Germany Netherlands Belize Brazil England France Italy Norway Sweden Egypt (may favorite to site see because of the pyramids) Greece Romania
why in the world would you count Texas as a separate country? how difficult is it for people to understand that schotland is a Country. ok i'll make it easy for you all. If a country has it own sport teams with wich it can compete(if it is good enough) in the olympics then it is a country. Will everybody agree with that? if we keep this rule then Texas is not a country, and schotland is.
Interesting. I always thought of a country as something that governed itself and didn't report to another government. (not counting the E.U., etc., though an argument could be made...) There are territories like Puerto Rico which is part of the U.S. but not a state. In some sports they field their own teams internationally (including the Olympics, I think). With the Texans, it's that they were technically a separate country a long time ago (not that it was intended to be a long-term situation) and some people have never forgotten it. I've also seen a few Californians get that way about their state, for similar reasons.
We like to think of Texas as a country because it's one of the few states that really could surive apart from the U.S; it was the only state that was annexed into the union (I believe); it's huge; we're Texans and we're proud and like to think of it as a country.
US Mexico Costa Rica England Switzerland Germany France Italy Wales Ireland South Africa Botswana Canada China
Arno, the olympics is the only international competition (I think) where the UK is represented as such. It's in sports like Football where Scotland fields its own team... maybe you should have used that as an example!
schotland is a country apart from England because it has his own parlement. It Governed itself. But it has the same queen as england. But the queen does not have alot of power. If schotland is not a country then england is also not a country. I used the olympics as an example for people to understand that schotland is a country. but if Puerto Rico also has it own olympic teams and they are governed by the usa my example is not correct.
really? sure. I wanted to use the world championship soccer, but i had the feeling nobody would take that serious.
Mexico Bahamas Belize England Scotland Poland Ukraine Czech Rep. Slovakia Costa Rica Nicaragua Panama If all goes according to plan, a month or 2 in Australia in summer '06 & then a year in South America.
