I don't know that the motivation will be there after 3 or 4 championships. I can see the Heat players getting complacent after winning a few championships and no longer having the same sort of drive they are playing with right now (i could especially see this happening to Bosh). Right now they are playing like they're on a mission (because they are). I think losing that competitiveness could definitely keep them from winning a ridiculous amount of championships (5+) in a row, even though they would be annual contenders.

I think an $80mm hard salary cap is way too optimistic. The owners just proposed a $45mm hard salary cap. Next season's salaries for Bosh/Wade/James alone exceed that $45mm threshold.

You really think the Heat will be fine with a hard cap?

There aren't any teams that would be fine with a hard cap. The Heat are right there at the league average in salaries. The Lakers and Knicks would be a lot more devastated than them, and that's def. not in the league's best interest since they are the top two markets.

The bulk of the Heat's current salary is still in the beginning of back loaded contracts. In the 2013/2014 season, they already have $71mm committed to 6 players...

No way that will happan, as most teams would have to cut players, and be forced to play with 6-7 players. What happens to all the players that cut, when there is no room on other teams, and have to play for the min. No way the player union will allow that.

If the players' union doesn't allow it, there will be a lockout. And since players suffer the most (by far) during a lockout, it's in the players' best interest to avoid a lockout.

I think that if a hard cap were instilled, it should allow for teams to renegotiate contracts. Aside from saving money, a hard cap's objective is to create parity in the league. That way, if Bosh/James/Wade wanted to play together, they'd have to take a substantial pay cut to do so.

Lebron will be in his prime for five to seven more years. So will Bosh. They will also get better role players along the way. The Heat will be a contender for at least five more years. They will win multiple championships IMO, but will they win multiple in a row? That's very difficult. Just ask the Spurs.

I'm really interested to see where Dwight is heading. If he joins force with another superstar they can challenge the Heat. Dwight can just be as dominant as Lebron is these days.

    I say 3

Wade is what 30? 31? After wade turns 34 or 35 they'll start to lose the star power... Still contend but it wont be as dominant

But I also thought itd take a year or two for them to win ONE.. and its looking like I was wrong lol

Seriously the question should be, how many championships will Dirk and the Mavs win in a row.

Wow, I didn't realize one game was so important. No wonder there are so many bad predictions every year on this board.

Hopefully one and one only. Unless they get rid of Terry AND the Rockets go into full rebuild mode.

The Heat will win every single NBA Championship from now until the end of time. They might as well just cancel every other team and just have the Heat play amongst themselves.

I think Howard and either Paul or Williams (probably Paul) may be a forgone conclusion now.

Where is the option for 0...stupid poll!

Seriously...LeBron has a modicum of talent...and Wade has a lot of leadership plus talent...but until they have won one together why assume 3 at the low end...three is probably the best case scenario for the heat and Mr. I am Taking My (above average) talents to South Beach.

    "Not 8...not 7...not 6, not 5..."

Kidding. I actually think they'll win a couple at least. It depends on how long Wade's body can hold up.
