Tracy is done. We are not wishing, we are just repeating what is already known about it.

I'll give the man till the start of next season. He has 6+ months of trying to get his knee 100%.

I think, and this is coming from a huge tmac fan, he doesn't deserve a contract higher than the v min at this point. if he doesn't gain some of his quickness and vertical back he is useless, he can't play d if he wanted to right now, he is slow, and certainly not strong enough to bang inside with bigger, slower forwards

i hope he returns to all star form so he can get out of the first round without piggy backing, good luck

I hate this argument, it's ridiculous because fans are not being paid millions of dollars to play basketball, they're just watching the games on TV and playing it at the local rec center some of the time. Just because they are not as good at a sport as a professional player doesn't mean they can't criticize him.

I think he signs a vet min contract for a random team to bring him off the bench in a 6th man role like OKC or Charlotte. Somebody will roll the dice with him like Memphis did with Iverson but I seriously doubt he puts up much better than 15 ppg on sub 40% shooting and then has no offers the following year. Nobody wants the drama that he brings in a body with too much mileage to make a difference night in and night out.

This is a repeat of the Iverson saga.

I think McGrady will have a hard time accepting a secondary bench role.

I think he'll have a hard time going to a team that has a superstar at the 2 or 3. That scratches out LeBron, Kobe, and Carmelo.

His lack of defensive effort kills him for several teams like the Spurs, Celtics, Thieves, and Jazz.

He's out of chances in Orlando, Houston, and probably Toronto.

I think solid playoff teams like Portland and Phoenix wouldn't chance chemistry issues with a wild card like TMac. Maybe Dallas will take a chance, but I can't see Cuban screwing his team chemistry up.

Can he convince a lesser playoff team to take a chance on him to be a sparkplug off the bench? Is he even willing to take that role? I don't think so. I still think he wants to be the man and considers himself All-Star talent.

That leaves him with the bottom-feeders that aren't going anywhere and would sign him to draw in fans. That's essentially what Memphis did with Iverson, although they wound up being a lot better than anyone expected. They could have made the playoffs without such a rotten start during the short-lived Iverson era. Maybe a team like Minnesota, Golden State, or Philidelphia will give him a less than MLE salary, but I can't see anything going beyond 2 guaranteed years.

If McGrady can suck up his pride and adjust his game to be a role player, I think he could last another 5-7 years with dwindling playing time. Some nights he would get hot and probably get more PT, but most nights he plays with the bench and doesn't finish games.

I don't think that will happen, though. I think this summer will be a brutal wake up call for TMac when a fat contract or a chance to play with a winner doesn't materialize. I think he'll take a deal like Iverson got, 1 year with a team expected to go nowhere. Then he'll try to prove he's still a bad ass and pull his usual skulking, petulant, whine to the media routine. He'll complain about not starting or PT or how the arena hasn't been renamed the Half Man, Half Amazing McGrady Arena. Maybe the team will put up with it, and he'll finish out the season. However, I think he'll either get buried on the bench, banished with a phantom injury, or bought out.

Then the Lockout happens and when it resumes, nobody will want to hire the sulking, out of shape TMac, and his career will be unofficially over like Steve Francis's is today.

People are just jealous that as lazy as T-Mac maybe, he has achieved way more than anyone of us on here ever will.

I love the NBA so much that I would kill to be some no fame bench warmer on the worst team who doesn't touch the ball at all, not to mention T-Mac who captured the scoring titled a while back and was ONCE an elite player.

Yes, he has poor work ethics, he has no heart etc,(at least according to the people on this forum), but even without all those things, he still made it to the top of the league. On the other hand, I can work as hard as I want but I will never make it to the D-League.

My point is, stop hating on T-Mac, cause the next time you hit that snooze and skip your workout for the fifth time that week, you are just as lazy as T-Mac and without the talent.

Did I hear our announcers the other night say that for NY "the McGrady experiment did not work out"?

You can say that about any NBA player.

Hint to you newbs, we didn't join Clutchfans to worship nba players, we're here as Rockets fans.

And if you haven't figured out why Rocket fans aren't happy with this guy, then well, you might not be one.

Nobody cares that Tmac is rich, we knew that already.

actually i think a team like portland needs a solid small forward, they wanted turkgolo but he went to raptors, they play a rookie in nicholas batum at that position and would likely take a long look at t-mac this free agency; also teams in the east conference like charlotte or milwuakee might take a look at him as well, but i think the knicks would be perect for t-mac

What's with players being traded to New York and having their careers go downhill from there? Francis, Marbury, maybe McGrady?

I think the question should be:

"If I were a GM, why would I sign T-Mac next year"?

It's because the signs of decline are already there but New York is just foolish enough to gamble.

he quit on our team in the middle of a game on multiple possessions and forced his teammates to play 4 on 5.

he called the lakers to win the finals when our team was still in the playoffs.
