exactly, I would love to see Posey take over the starting roll, and Boki recieving playing time. I voted 2 weeks...but hopefully it will be a few weeks more.

In that case, lets pray that Boki is the 3 point threat he was made out to be.

Then its Posey for D and Boki for O....We can only pray..

oh yea, Rice out for a month

I don't think Boki is a big 3 pt threat but I think he has a sweet mid range game. If you look at his numbers from last season in Europe, it was not that good and their 3 pt line was a lot closer in.

I hope Rice is out for the year, I know this may sounds pessimistic but I think it could benefit the team. We are a young team that is a low seed in the playoffs. It would be opportune to get Boki the minutes he needs, now. This will cause less "adjustment time" for next year. Boki will play D as good as Rice and on the offensive end....well who knows? Everyone wants to see him, the time is now.

    Francis
    Posey
    Boki
    Griffin
    Yao

This team would cause all types of matchup problems for opposing teams. You know that Boki will bring solid fundamentals, I dont think him being in the lineup will hurt us...

I'm not going to vote for this one since even RICE himself doesn't know the schedule.

Ms. Rice makes the call. Haven't you guys figured this out already?

its frustrating to watch rice play. hornacek, hawkins, curry, reggie, price, Bullard. these are all players that no matter how old they ot they always had a jumper, shot 90 at the free throw, and could knock down threes with the best. Rice not only is a liability on defense but he can't make shots anymore from free throws to 3's. i hope he's gone. would love to see nachbar

    I am saying two weeks,

a sprained shoulder can alter one's shot completely. Even if he does come back, he needs to reaqainted with his touch before he actually does something (hopefully Rudy will realize this before letting him on the court).

    Better than ever for Boki!!!

If Rice is down, which is just as likely as Mo being down at this point, having Posey as insurance and able to step into the lineup is just as valuable KT as insurance.

If we assume that both Rice and Mo are down:
Without the trade our #1 SF becomes Morris, and Boki moves into the rotation, which Rudy to this point sure has seemed hesitant to do (or Hawkins starts getting big minutes again). Did you see some of the post-trade quotes? "It just wouldn't work" in reference to playing KT at SF.

With the trade Posey slides into SF. T-Mo gets backup 3/4 minutes. It is possible that we play some twin tower Cato/Ming to cover the backup 4 minutes. Griffin can play 30+ minutes a night.

I don't see how we're any worse off depth wise for having made the Posey trade, if that's what you're trying to say.

As for the original question...I give it 1 month. It may mysteriously take longer to heal if the Rockets start winning with Posey and/or Boki plays, and proves he's for real.

Sadly, I still don't think Rudy's gonna play Boki.

You'll see more Norris,Cat,Francis while Rice is out. Right now and just like the beginnig of the season, Boki will be the 4th option at the spot. Hawkins will get time before Nachbar and so will Morris which is very sad to see. You would think Rudy would like to see what he ave in Nachbar, but he always seems hesitant, just like Griffin last yr of playing certain raw rookies. Look for more 3 guard,Morris and Hawkins while Rice is out. A smart thing for rudy to do is put either Nachbar or Hawkins on the dl and bring collier off the dl list. Taylors latest injury really shows how we have too many small players active.

I hope Rice comes back quickly. It sounds like most of ya'll have not seen Glen do anything good this year. Yes, his contract is large, but it's not like we're paying it directly. He scores well and opens things up for us. I hope he comes back within the week.

According to KRIV, they will give Rice a week or so to rehab. If his shoulder doesn't respond then he will undergo season ending surgery. Hopefully things work out for him.

I like Glen Rice, but James Posey has to be the starting SF. And I'd like to see Hawkins get more minutes like tonight. Hawkins and Posey are great defenders and Posey fits this team well, he is a defender, and rebounder because of his athletic ability, and he can slash to the basket and score. I'd like to see the Rocks re-sign Posey at the end of the year. A young SF/SG nucleus of Posey, Mobley, Hawkins and Nachbar is what this team needs for the future. But for now Nachbar isn't ready, so Rice fits into that equation nicely. But he has to come off the bench, Rice is only good for limited minutes now.

That's interesting...the Rockets radio guy, Hagadorn, said after the game that he should be ready by the 4th game or so but has to sit out all 5 of course.

    Out for the year.

An MRI revealed a cartilage tear in Rice's left shoulder. He will be out at least two weeks, with the Rockets hoping that rest rather than surgery will heal the injury

You're kidding? If this is true, Hawkins is going to get a lot more minutes, which isn't a bad thing really. T-Mo will get a lot more minutes to.

I feel slightly bad. I've been hoping for an injury so that Posey and Hawkins will get the lion's share of the minutes. I kinda smiled when I heard the report on KRIV.
