    What’s his value?
Absolutely no reason to have him around right now. He’s good not great, young but not super young, won’t be a part of any really good rockets team, and hurts them tanking over the next 3 years. Seems like it’s logical to trade him, along with Tucker and anyone else with positive value.
There’s a salary floor so might as well keep Wall and Gordon on negative contracts to fulfill the floor on the salary and just suck.
Ferntits is the worst. Morey getting run off was always the signal that this franchise was gonna be putrid for years and years and years.

I’m confused. We are rebuilding, and your first thought it to trade a 25 year old with potential?

He is now the only valuable asset this team has. Noway they trade him.

Now that harden is gone hopefully someone will replace all those pick and roll and the lob passes to him

Only way we trade him is if it’s in a package to deliver a real all star.

He’s a legitimately good NBA caliber player locked up on a reasonable contract. Don’t think Tilman will be in a hurry to give that up...

I say again why can't we vote on threads like we used to? This thread would instantly become dust.

    Dumb
Basically build around wood should be our strategy whilst rebuilding / retooling

No. We aren’t rebuilding. We are wandering the desert for at least half a decade. Having a decent piece that makes us competitive for the playin tournament, keeps us from drafting high and will be aged out of usefulness in 2029 or 2030 when we might see some of the players from 25-27 from Brooklyn’s picks start to be all nba type players (if we are lucky and Brooklyn sucks) doesn’t do us any good.
The astros didn’t “mostly strip down but keep Roy Oswald around”. I will go ahead and bump this post in 2028 and say told you so- how about that? mid you are going to tear it down you have to actually, you know, year it down. And the best time to suck is before we owe all our picks to OKC. So that’s bad as you can be the next 3 years. Wood doesn’t help that. Unless you think there’s a road map to something interesting with him in the next 3 years (narrators voice- there isn’t).
I’m not saying he should. E traded today- he might be worth way more at the next trade deadline or the one after. I’m asking when is the soonest he could be traded.

You are correct. He is the only valuable asset this team has. Your conclusion is no way they trade him. My conclusion is that’s precisely why you trade him
I do think we can get a late first for Tucker. That’s not really valuable but it’s better than nothing.
