My brother gave me a really nice black leather couch he had for a while that he really liked. Other than a few hardly noticable non-penetrating scratches from his cats he had, it's been a solid leather sofa that has held up really well. My caveat with couches is I always sit in the same spot 95% of the time as I like being near the side table for my drinks, access to gadgets, etc. . With fabric and/or cheaper quality couches, that spot gets worn out and eventually sinks because it gets worn down (spring, etc.). While I've been sitting in the same spot on the leather couch he gave me for years now, it has worn / sunken just a little and the heavy duty side has bent outward a little from leaning into it. But, it's still in pretty good shape so I'm not really thinking about replacing it. Only one other problem I had with it...the last senior dog I had used to sit on it on the other side and urinated on it a few times due to incontinence. I had to do some extensive cleaning of it. Underneath, there is usually a fabric liner. I had to remove and discard that liner completely cause it got soaked. The liquid finds the path of least resistance to go down...so it didn't actually go into the foam cushion areas. Let's just say...I cleaned the hell out of the affected areas top-to-bottom multiple times whenever those accidents occurred with very strong neutralizer and then again bigtime after the dog passed. Sounds kind of gross but the alternative is to buy a new expensive leather couch that wouldn't hold up as well as this one. Very hard to find a very well built leather couch imo and, if you do, then you're going to pay out the wazoo.
Saw a commercial for this earlier today...no idea if it's a good product or not, sounded interesting though. https://www.pooph.com/
Yea...I had really good concentrated stuff. Used to drench the sofa in it and let it soak for hours. But, I'm done with pets. I paid my dues owning dogs. One big pain in the ass. Worth it but costly and a lot of work keeping the house clean and caring for them in their senior years.
