I live in The Woodlands and work in the Greenway Plaza/West U area. Fortunately, I decide when I come in and when I leave, so I work from 7 - 4 to avoid peak traffic times. It still takes me almost exactly 45 minutes, each way.
my drive is usually about an hour and a half each way some days almost 2 hours each way depending on traffic situations...
I live about 2 miles from work. Most days I drive and it takes about 5 minutes. Other days I walk and it takes about half an hour.
damn! so about 20 hours each week you spend commuting? i know some people commute from galveston to downtown or even farther. know idea why or how they do it.
The Woodlands to Richmond Ave at Beltway 8. Probably the longest commute I have ever had but the commute I had to across from the Galleria was worst in terms of traffic and stress. I rode my motorcycle one time and when I pulled into the garage I said... never again.
LOL it's not fun I will tell you that much, but the job pays my bills and allows my wife to stay home with the kiddos... So, I do what I gotta do -E
10 minutes, from the Heights to Galleria area. I used to have a 45 mile commute and did that for 5 years. Can't believe how much of my life I wasted driving. Having a short commute seriously changes your life.
I work out of my house so Bed to Desk in 30-60 seconds. I do head to Dallas once a month, so I guess that would be part of it, so 500 miles/month = 25 miles a day avg. 8 hours a month = 24 minutes avg. a day.
Roughly a twenty mile commute taking about 30-40 minutes each way. How long it takes depends on what time I leave. If I leave the parking lot at 4:55, it shaves off 10-12 minutes on the drive. If I leave the parking lot at 5:05 you can add that same amount of time.
A better question: why does distance matter at all? Time is all that should matter. I'd rather live 20 miles away and take 25 minutes to get to work than live 10 miles away but take 40 minutes to get to work.
Kemah to Galena Park/Houston- 30-35 minutes. If I get stuck in HWY 225 traffic like this morning I just watch a movie on my double din radio screen.
