I was having a discussion with a friend about how long it would take to drive all the way around the beltway and long (in miles) it is. I looked around google and some other sites trying to find how long it is but I'm not having much luck.
The other thing to remember is it's not complete. You can't start at say Bellaire and try to make a full circle back around to Bellaire.
What do you mean? The portion between 59N and I-10 isn't as big of the rest of the beltway but it still goes through. You can make a full circle.
Am I wrong? I never drive up there, but I thought they were still finishing that NW side and that it didn't go through.
Ok, I wasn't considering that. To me, if I have to get off the highway, I don't consider it connected. But I'll agree the feeder counts.
Actually its the NE side. Between 59N near Humble and Highway 90 near Crosby is not complete, but the feeders are there.
It's not as bad as the usual feeders because there aren't has many stoplights. I think the speed limit is 55 or 60.
east east of 59 is annoying. The first time I went that way I was like WTF, where did the freeway go?
Once I drove the Beltway while taking shots for each exit. So much fun. I think every X-Mas day Porsche owners drive it in full in a united fleet of awesomeness.
back when I lived on the East of town (I-10/Normandy) and used to work at Beltway 8/Imperial Valley, I was lucky that I didn't have to pay any tolls to go to work. now that I work on Beltway8/Harwin and live down in 288/Highway 6, I spend $2 to get to work and just take the feeder home.
Thanks, I looked up and down google and wikipedia and couldnt find it. That Grand Parkway is gonna be ridiculous when they get it finished.
that cant be right. you would have to be going at least 90 mph the whole time and why the hell would you drive the full loop? i cant think of any reason to.
