How long have you been a Rockets fan and where are you from?

Im born in Canada but lived in Sydney Australia for most of my life.
Became a fan when Tracy Mcgrady moved across to Houston. Grown to love the team and especially Yao Ming

Im up here in Montreal, been a fan since i watched my first game.

 

YoYo is EASILY, top #3 Rocket fans on this board. He could easily be swayed to the Dark Purple/Yellow side, but he stayed true to the good side! I mean the Lakers are very successful and its been its been tough being a Rockets fan, but he's still loyal!

Back in the day, I use to travel for work and my work buddies were all west coast, and they were all Laker fans. I know how you feel bro!

Reading all the responses from posters really makes u appreciate how great sports can be. It doesn't matter ur religion, race, or color. I have many disagreements with posters, but I never make personal attacks. As long as its in context of hoops its cool.

I really have a appreciation for the fans overseas or that have no association with the city of houston. I just follow a simple rule, no matter how hard it is sometimes, I root for the front of the jersey, not the back.

Grew up in Texas City, joined USAF and I'm in Germany now. Have been a fan of Rockets since 1972! UofH grad in 1983. I'm 48 now. PS, I get up at 0200 to watch Rockets games here.

Rockets fan since they moved to Houston. At one time, Mike Newlin was my favorite Rocket... then Moses came to town... and then Dream got drafted.

Been a fan since 86, when I was 9 years old. I'm 30 now. One of my earliest basketball memories is The Sampson Shot. Also got to meet Robert Reid, Rodney McCray and Steve Harris after my first Rox game.

Born and raised in Houston. Been a fan since 1986 (I was pretty young, so the memory is a bit foggy). Mostly I remember our family friends cheering on the Rockets in the Finals (I was only 8 yrs old).

I watched the Rockets on/off during the late 80s, but was more passionate as an Oilers fan. I remember watching (H)Akeem's quad-double on HSN (or was it 20 Vision) and thinking: "What the hell is a quadruple double, and why is it such a big deal??" Naturally, I am now much more knowledgeable and suitably awed by that accomplishment.

We moved to in 1992, and I was the only Rockets fan in Indiana (or so I thought) during the loss to the Sonics (the year I became a die-hard fan) and then championship the next year. We moved back to H-Town (Mo City) the summer after we won the 1st ring (THANK GOD).

In college I cheered the Barkely/Clyde/Dream Rockets, and then watched the misery of the Steve Francis era, followed by the arrival of Yao and the slow climb back to respectability.

I moved to Minnesota for work in 2004 (why, God, why??). I couldn't afford LP the first 2 years, so I didn't get to enjoy too many of the white boy power sqaud games or the disaster that was 05-06. But I bought LP last year and this year and never miss a game (ahh the magic of DVR!).

I started posting on CF in 2/07 after spending a lot to time lurking. So here I am.

 

I'm in the Mccombs School of Business and the Houston Rockets & Toyota Center (official name of company I guess) recruits there in austin for business majors. I applied and sent my resume and got invited for an interview.
