Been a Rockets fan since 1989. Was 6 years old at the time. The early 90s Rockets were some of my best memories since my dad was dealing with terminal cancer at the time but watching the Rockets win made the atmosphere in the house so much better. He lived through it, and we got to enjoy a couple of championships along the way.

I been rollin with these guys since 1990-91....I remember watchin Hakeem and OT and guys like Buck Johnson...I couldn't stand Buck for some reason, probably cuz my pop hated him too...lol.

....damn, i remember the 1st time I saw the Rockets miss the playoffs...we played PHX that night, lost 100-97 and we needed the Lakers to lose and they beat the Clippers or something...i think i'm right, i'll have to check that out...

anyway, my dad got me watchin the rockets...we didnt have cable at my house for a few years...so we would go to my grandma's house to watch the rockets at home when they played on HSE. (yes, HSE, remember that?!?!?) She lived next door to us (my dad's mom btw) and she would watch with us most if not all the time.

92-93 season...who remembers the bad call vs. SA on the last game of the year? we would beat the sonics!!!!!! :(

I grew up in Houston, so the Rockets have always been my team. The first memories I have of watching games would have to be the Rockets/Celtics Finals in 86, and I was 5 then. Exciting times right now for the rox, hope it keeps on rolling.

Wow, my first comment here on clutchfans, I feel at home :D!

I'm 18 and live in Stockholm, Sweden. I've been a Rocket-fan since the first time I saw Olajuwon. My brother was at a basketball-cup for like 8 years ago and without knowing Olajuwon he bought a "Hakeem The Dream"-poster and brought it home. We didn't know who the guy was but we put the poster in our room and thought it was cool. The first time I saw Olajuwon was like 3-4 years ago, I was so amazed by this guy that I started to download old games with him and been a rocket-fan ever since!

Considering I am newly registered here on the board, I feel this is the appropriate thread to make my first post in.

I have been a long time lurker on the site. Probably back even around 98 or 1999ish. I never really got around to joining the board as I have not been a message board kind of guy up until recently. Anyway...

My earliest memories of the Rockets are probably right around the 90-01 season, but I really was not into the team so to say until the 92-93 year really or right around when Rudy T joined the team midway. I remember the Clippers/Seattle series and that infamous out of bounds call in OT.

Then I followed ever since, through the championship years, then the pajama years, Barkley years, Pippen (ugh), then the dark years. My family has been season ticket holders since 95 so I used to go to the games regularly until I moved away for school.

But now I still watch every game I can (thank God for NBALP) and it's been that way pretty much for the last 4 years.

Oh originally I am from the Katy area, and lived in Houston my entire life until I moved to the Midwest to pursue my flying career.

Ok I'm new here but I've been vievin' this form for a long time.

Well I'm Rockets' fan for 3 years I belive. This team is just great but we need playoff wins, that's all. I really like McGrady and of course Rick Adelman (that's why I'm 'Jeff Who)

I live in Europe so I wish I could see Rockets live even once...

From Austin. Grew up a Knicks fan, but rooted for Hakeem. Didn't like the Spurs cuz they had the stiffness of Robinson (compared to Hakeem's intuitive flow). I liked Sean Elliot's Taco Cabana ads though. Was happy when the Rox picked up Yao and brought in JVG cuz I thought it'd be like the mid-90s Knicks over again. But, I'm glad we got Adelman for his O, while keeping the JVG D.
