    CRC???

I remember him. I always thought that was MacBeth pulling everyone's chain with an alter ego.

Yep. I don't think it was McB but I know his "400 post" thread was very MacBeth-like in nature and he disappeared shortly after.

    Who knows.

I would like to know who Friendly used to be because you know someone like that has posted here before.

I disagree. Only new love can give you that type of stmaina.:)

    and the answer is

no, I didn't use to post here, but I did use to lurk here a while back, before the switchover. I never registered because I don't like to register for online stuff because you never know where your info will end up. I decided to anyway, and am happy no spam has shown up in my mail box.

I will be off vacation in the next couple of days and you may not hear from me again for a week. Duty calls, and it's already howling like a wolf. I've enjoyed it, and my only regret is having given too a hard a foul to Grizzled and johnheath.

You're thinking of IROC-it, but those numbers are exagurated. The real king of mega-posting/flameout is Pinetree1960, or something like that. He was on a 50 posts per day pace for about a month, till he decided to call out Doc Rocket. Boy, the flames from that crash could be seen as far as Beaumont.

    Soo....
you took a vacation of a year from here? Since registration has been required even to lurk since around the draft last year...and you just registered this month, I am assuming that you havent seen this board since June(?) of 2002?

Just curious...seems an awful big hole in the story...;)

I haven't seen this board since may 2002 or about then.

I lurked enough to recognize some of the posters who are most visible like Freak, and rm95, and dadakota, and glynch, and a few others. but there are tons I've never heard of.

as for flaming threads and such, I don't even read them, and dang sure don't want to be a part of them. they are huge wastes of time and everyone involved ends up looking stupid. I can tell you that my willingness to post now is partly because the tenor of the boards has changed for the better. I remember a LOT more nasty talk between posters. Now it is really a small number, but I remember it being a lot worse. Now it's really polite overall, with a free exceptions.

I don't mind a lively discussion, but name calling is silly, and people who try to look studly online don't.

no, this was some guy who just posted it about a week ago

he said he hadn't posted much since he had kids. I remember thinking he had been a member about since 1999 and had like 1400 total posts

his point was how many he did in one month, then the same amount the full year, then only 400 since

    I don't think it was Iroc-it

That was a foul? I though it was just an incredibly illogical argument.

    You fouled yourself.;)

well, I felt I had fouled both you guys hard too early in the discourse, you know 4 minutes into the first quarter.

I like to discuss, but I'm not into the long arguments with points which merely demonstrate how differently the folks see things. when I was younger, yeah, I dug it. but now that I'm older, I'm like that line from the Paul Simon song

get these mutts away from me. I don't find this stuff amusing anymore. :)
