    having a breakout year would be nice, but all I really want from vspan is to show improvement and to contribute quality minutes.

    V-Span has about the same chance of getting struck by lightning next year as winning MIP. He has about the same chance of getting struck by lightning and winning the lottery during the all-star game as making it to the all-star team. I'll be happy if he beats out JL3 for third guard off the bench.

    This is a pretty good idea. My suggestion was going to be to find a country that allows gay, polygamy and let all his fans marry him. The way he gets support is the same blind devotion seen in spouses or mothers...

    I have hopes for him, I keep saying that I look at him and see the game of John Starks. I don't see him as a good PG, but as a decent energy combo guard off the bench. He's just got to stick his shots when the lights are on him.

    the guy is a slasher and passer. JVG used him off the ball as a spot up shooter. how effective can he be in that situation?

    now i'm not comparing their talent levels, but just for example, how good would jason kidd be as an off the ball spot up shooter? see the point?

    when playing to his weaknesses he will never be able to do anything. adleman will use him to be creative on offense and drive to the basket.

    i expect him to become a solid backup PG.

    i think he played off the ball b/c of a lack of trust of him playing the point, which is understandable. But him spotting up doesnt mean he has to be a spot up shooter...if he is spotted up and he gets the ball, he could just as easily penetrate.

    Who cares if you can drive if you can't hold on to the ball......I wish he would do well instead of another waste of a pick....but he just seems more worried about himself IMO than he is at working hard and earning a spot.....the olympics seem to have given him a perspective that he is entitled to play alot....which makes him a headcase more than a MIP candidate to alot of people around here.

    NBA= Nothing but arrogance?

    No, but he'll become a solid rotation PG

    He slashed plenty from the wing. He seemed to have the freedom to go to the basket whenever he wanted, but tended to fumble the ball or blow the layups. Maybe VSpan just clammed up. He looked very indecisive with the ball whenever I watched him.

    I honestly do think he can produce. He had no problems doing so on the national team. I honestly think it's just a matter of him finding himself on the team and being comfortable.

    i agree. i think the claim that jvg "just" had him standing and spoting up for 3s is flawed...you know a lot of people do linger around the wing and move based on where the ball goes and what the defense does.

    I think there should be more options. I mean if V-Span does become a solid rotation year doesn't that still make it a break out year for him? You don't have to win MIP to have a breakout year. That being said, I don't think he'll be anywhere close to MIP, a breakout year, and I don't think he'll really become a rotation player either. But in any case, I think the poll is painted with very rose colored glasses....I can't believe 9 people think he'll become an All-Star next year! :rolleyes:

    According to some sources he's trying to break his contract with the Rocks...

    Bur if he stays, he may become a regular part of the rotation.

    What has V-Span done to convince anyone that he's a PG? If there were a "rotation SG" choice, I'd have been tempted. There's not, so the only choice with a chance of being right is "Scrub".

    If Rafer and head can be considered point guards than so can VSpan. But it's all for naught as it looks like he won't be putting a Rockets uni on again.
