CP3 is still the best player Harden ever played with and with him nearly won a ring with. The reason he wanted a trade was because of CP3's barking at Harden's off the ball laziness.

The WB for CP3 deal wasn't going to work out well - a lot of us knew it. It was a huge mistake NOT in hindsight. Trade CP3 fine, but not for WB. Or you try to convince Harden to make it work. But you don't trade CP3 + your future for WB. That was utterly stupid.

Ariza was not as good in washington and phoenix, but was he better than James Ennis that was tried to replace him with in our already established system. I thought we lost to the Warriors by inches in 2019, having Ariza in there instead of nobody would have helped with rebounding and defense.

You’re looking at cp3 now. Look through the lens of 2018 cp3 that couldn’t get past a center on the perimeter. It very much looked like his career was done. I wish we hadn’t made that move but cmon guys chris Paul looked really bad in that second year!

Lol, not that involved? You are saying that Tilman didn't say we are doing this WB trade and overruling Morey and his staff - all that stuff about how WB was the player he wanted and he owed it to the fans to do it - wasn't true? All his quotes were not true?

    Get out of here.

He was INJURED! He had two hamstrings injuries, one at the beginning of the year!

I’m not saying he wasn’t involved in that trade. I’m saying people reporting on the team have been quoted that he does not meddle. He meddled in one big trade perhaps.

No one thought Cuban was a good owner until he won a championship...and even then look at what he's done. They won and he IMMEDIATELY broke up that championship team. They haven't been back since. People now just think he's the best owner because ooh cool, he bought all of his players a PS4 and does junk like that as if they can't afford one and as if he doesn't make that money right back ten fold after spending it.

The fact that a businessman isn't being honest...that's part of the occupation.

I also don't know how he treats players like robots or slaves? Wasn't he trying to help Harden open a restaurant? Didn't he just send Harden to a team he wanted to go?

And despite all the rumors that he'd fire Morey to let his son GM, that didn't happen. He put Stone in charge.

Is he egotistical and likely a jerk? Sure. A lot of bosses and powerful guys tend to be...I don't know if that makes him a bad owner though. The years we've had him each team went to the playoffs.

Sure, you can say "He inherited the team" but so did Les, Les' titles were inherited teams as well.

One thing Tilman has going for him is like Cuban he's actually a fan of the sport and a fan of the team. He's been coming to games forever now and a bigger Rocket fan than all the Harden stans that want to see the Rockets fail as some vengeance for James.

Yes? And we didn’t know that a 34 year old chris Paul or however old he was at the time was going to bounce back. When a 34 year old starts having consecutive injuries you worry. Are you really saying if you owned a billion dollar franchise you wouldn’t have been extremely worried that you were going to pay chris Paul 40 mil to do basically nothing productive on the court?!!

    Entirely, yes.

The only choice the organization had was to pacify Harden with the Westbrook trade or refuse and have him blow up the team a year sooner.

Harden's shortcomings as a person doomed the Rockets no matter what they did.

Exactly. Throw in political affiliation and people will think Tilman is automatically the worst owner.
But the main issue is that people don’t know anything about the Les era.
Those championships are based on the previous regime’s general manager and draft picks.
Les changed the uniforms after the two championships because he said he wanted to sell more jerseys. He didn’t realize they were ugly.

So what was the best team that Harden had? The one with Chris Paul. Les Sold the team right after the signing. He didn’t want to pay up and more importantly he didn’t care about the chance of winning a title.
I would sell the team after the playoffs to see if I can get one more ring.
But he didn’t care about the ring. It was just about money

He opened his mouth too many times. He pretends to be willing to spend it all. He also has awful politics and hates animals.

Les loved animals and fought with the Rodeo for years.

Tilman put up Rodeo posters in the club section the minute he had the team.

Tilman has no tact, class or clue.

I hope Tilman sells quickly. He burned down this **** in three years.

This is just one thing to take into account, but Les had a lot of goodwill by winning championships the first two years he owned the team.

I don't think Ariza was the difference...I think CP3 was the difference.

Like people forget he played terrible that year. Everyone here wanted him gone except a few people. CP3 was the difference, he looked like an aging point guard on an expensive contract and was a guy that had a history of not finishing deep playoff runs...he didn't look good that year and he played himself off the team basically.

You need to tell them about entire Les era because newbs here didn’t exist when Les bought the team.
You tell them the Summit and they think it’s some place on fortnite

Mchale is an idiot. He's a good ole boy who will always get another job no matter how bad he screwed up to the last one. He wasted prime years of KG.

Those guys were capable of shooting 20% from 3 and getting beat every time their guy had the ball just like Ariza did for us against the Warriors. Guy was washed and a big part of the problem himself.

It says how is Tilman is different not how is Les a shitty owner.

Tilman wishes China loved him too.

Don't get it twisted. He's a capitalist who doesn't give a **** about human rights. His suits are made in Uyghur Work Camps. He brags about his labor camp suits saving him money. He's a billionaire, buy custom suits you cheap ****. Instead he buys yachts. **** him.
