The extremity of the anger and the related need for national healing is largely due to the intolerance and hostility in the Democrat left's extremely divisive and confrontational "Identity Politics" and "Political Correctness" agendas, both of which Obama and his regime have certainly played a leading role in championing in our country over the last eight years.

In fact, Obama has put the Democrat left's "Political correctness" agenda:
    1. Ahead of our national security through his sympathetic terrorism policies and his policies undermining the morale and effectiveness of our armed forces,
    2. Ahead of our law and order by undermining the personal safety and effectiveness of law enforcement officer's while effectively encouraging rioting, looting and criminal violence in numerous instances
    3. Ahead of the economic well being of lower income Americans by his open door immigration policies
    4. Ahead of the US constitution by refusing to allow the Senate to affirm what are obviously treaties with other countries, such as the Paris Climate agreement and the Iran nuclear deal
    5. Ahead of our bill of rights by supporting laws and regulations that undermine freedom or religion and freedom of speech
    6. Ahead of the integrity of our tax collection agency, by using that federal department to intimidate and harass the political opponents of the Democrat left
    7. Ahead of our education system by helping to shape an environment on university campuses that promotes this absurd "snowflake" culture riddled with "safe spaces" and "trigger warnings," and which has stifled the free speech rights of both students and professors alike
    8. Ahead of the integrity of the science community, by promoting a spectacularly partisan and intolerant Anthropogenic Global Warming agenda, demonstrated repeatedly to be nearly as corrupt as the Obama regime is, which has been funded aggressively by the US government and which will not tolerate any dissent by research scientists, at threat of the loss of not only research funding but also their jobs and careers
    9. Ahead of our national healthcare system, which as dysfunctional as it was, he and the Democrats have almost finished destroying through their ill-conceived, hyper-partisan Obamacare scam
    10. There are certainly more examples, if anyone else wants to add on.
Again, Barack Obama is the most effective enemy that our country has ever faced, hands-down, case-closed, game over.

If we want to begin to heal, we need leaders that are trying to facilitate national healing and sincere national unity, and not those who are actively trying to empower themselves by pitting everyone off against each other. Which is of course the exact opposite of what we have right now.

With amazing precision and understanding of how to resolve issues for all. Or with love. Since neither is going to happen, we need an alien invasion. But there is no alien. :(

However, we do have some common enemies. It start with the fear and hatred in ourselves. Don't let them win. And those that choose to be heal, or is already healthy, cool. Those that don't, poor soul :(. And may they one day allow themselves to be healed.

    Cheers.

That's very true. The new ignore feature works a lot better and I've found myself more prone to using it....but only in extreme circumstances.

I imagine a few more people on the list might clean up the board a bit.

I would thank you for your intelligent and thoughtfully crafted reply, but exactly as expected, you have failed to offer one.

Why would I need to craft one? The truth could be dancing naked in front of you, but you would still be saying but "Obama ".

wow. i'd ask you how obama's divisiveness has effected your day to day life and i'd wager to bet that in the grand scheme of things it has effected it next to none at all. but here you are convinced that this country is in total shambles, on the brink of some sort of catastrophic precipice all due to obama and the democtrats "political correctness agenda".

it's a wonder you can even afford a computer or find the time to post as much as you do with the world collapsing around you.

You are flipping out, dude. I'm surprised that you took time off from standing in your backyard, searching for black helicopters. As for the actual topic? I saw worse national division on display in 1968, and remember it well. We will, as a country, move beyond this bizarre period and into the sunlit uplands of the future America. A tolerant and inclusive America that respects the rights of the individual, regardless of race, creed, gender, or color. People will look back and view this election cycle as an aberration. A moment of national madness that gripped a significant minority of our citizens, causing them to dismiss reason and, in doing so, forget their humanity.

Millions will vote for Trump even in a loss. Many of those voters deeply believe in his discriminatory, bigoted message even if he doesn't. The country is broken and it will take several generations for it to be fixed. We all have to deal with it or move.

How do we heal? Dropping the white nationalism as a rallying cry for political opposition would be a start...

The tone of congressional opposition the last 8 years presaged what we see now. Divisions will grow more if we continue to have a congress that governs by crisis. At some point political compromise has to become OK again. The left-right tribal bullshit needs to die. Our system needs to see the competition if I deas, not nationalist identities.

And we know various media networks and online media outlets aren't gonna stop reporting the outrage angle. I have concerns about how so many of us live in total information bubbles. Not good for civil society.

But if Clinton wins and congress stays red, we all know how that will go.

    Nobody read past here.

Don't you get tired of constructing a reality-blocking Maginot Line and having to rebuild it every time you get a reality blitzkrieg slipping around the rear?

Thing is: voters know what Trump is. And every vote he receives is sending a clear message. And that itself lets us know the challenges our civil society faces ahead.

You can't negotiate with bigotry and fear-mongering. A repudiation of his lies and what he stands for would be a move away from nihilism and toward policy-based competition, recognizing false promises made to exploit division and get people to vote against their economic interests. But Chris Rock did make keen observations about riding out that identity thing... And a lot of voters are saying they gonna ride it out.

Healing happens when we deport the Mexicans, ban the Muslims, build the wall, repeal abortion and gay marriage, kill global trade deals, and imprison Hillary and high level supporters. Oh wait. There is not going to be any healing.

I think it would be an amazing showing of unity and good will if Trump stuck with Merrick Garland as the SC nominee.
