Global Warming refers to a continuing rise in average tempatures (not just receiving warmth) where the Earth retains more heat than it does today. Stasis would be the preferred state, where the average tempature would remain about where it is today since we delicate humans have such a limited comfort zone.

I had a Geography professor in college that said if you reduced the Earth down to the size of a cue ball it would be much smoother than the cue ball.
ie. the variation of topograhy on the Earth is smaller percentage wise than the irregularities on the cue ball. Pretty smooth huh.

If the average temperature on earth was raised a few degrees, people could probably just migrate toward the poles a little bit. As it is now, the poles are very inhospitable, while people can live on the equator. If we lose some tropical area but gain Antarctica, what is the net change in livable land area?
