This is what gets GMs fired. You Have to pick the best available player... A player you pick for a particular hole in your team probably wont be the best player available on the board. There are many examples of this... The Aaron Brooks pick comes to mind we already had 2 PGs when we picked him up... look how that turned out.
They are the Atlanta Hawks. Why draft Marvin Williams when you could have Chris Paul? Management was stupid. Marvin Williams was the 3rd small forward they drafted in the first round in 2 years. They then followed it up with Sheldon Williams who had bust written all over him
A lot of you are player hating because he's unattractive and for some reason it bothers you he has a relatively good looking + talented wife. He's no worse than scrubby white players like Nick Collison or Tyler Hansborough, it's just that you expect pasty guys to miss wide open dunks. Marvin Williams had that "potential" which made his stock so high. With Shelden, everyone knew he had pretty low ceiling.
