Dmo playing 4/5 as backup to Dwight and Jones have been working out really good for the team. I see them sharing the ball and do better job at help d for each other than at the start of the season.
Great post!! This is just about as correct as you can put it. I love Jabberwocks posts because he uses hard facts as, I believe, the Houston coaching staff does as well. The Bucks game was obviously a bit different for Casspi, because he played mainly the 3 in the absence of Garcia. It is really unfortunate that Casspi has been taking his 3pt shots mostly from the top of the key, which is a bit outside his range. He shoots better from the corner, but he seldom gets the ball there and have even fewer open looks. I don't worry at all about Casspi at this point. I think he is really making serious progress in finding his game with the team and I'm sure he will be a great piece when the playoffs start. He is passing more and he has very clever passes. Like to see a little bit more aggressiveness in offensive rebounding and some more going for the dunk. Don't be afraid of the blocks. That happens to everybody.
Psychoanalysis posts are more stupid than annoying. He's playing well. Could be that the Blazers are soft could be weight training is effecting the shot. Fans should be looking for where the player ends up and not where he begins at.
Once again Casspi is having a VERY SOLID game. 15 pts on 7 shots in 21 minutes. +12 off the bench. http://www.82games.com/1314/1314HOU.HTM Numbers don't lie
If he becomes a double-double guy of the bench the rockets can beat any team in the west. He will help himself a lot if he starts winning rebounding battles. He looks buffer than he was and I think weight training and the adjustments were effecting his game. He's also making better decisions.
i think his position on offence affect his shot% he much better at corner 3 then top of the free throw 3 but being position at top of the 3 allow him to cut /pass/rebound/set screens...better. so maybe his shooting % is getting hurt but his contribution to the team more then pay up for that as his -/+ show
Anyone else started to realize how eerily similar Casspi is as a player to Marcus Morris? Not necessarily in the way they look playing the game itself, but their overall size, skill level, and what they produce on both ends is very, very similar. The main difference is Morris is slightly better from 3, and gets more minutes in Phoenix. Great free agent bargain from Morey and needs to get more appreciation on the board. Morey probably realized that Morris' role could be filled by other tweeners alike across the league that have a hard time finding a role as a 3. Also was probably realizing that they would need to shed salary that summer for cap space to make a free agent run at Dwight, and thought that its probably best to move the bigger contracts out first with his PF's and keep the younger ones that still had some intrigue and upside around the league. Casspi is making almost 2 million dollars less than Marcus next year(could be small but important factor if Rockets make moves to be free agency players this Summer) and Morey got a 2nd rounder for Morris that turned out to be Canaan.
Casspi kind of reminds of me of ginobli when he drives the lane and contorts his body oddly. Very good pickup, a steal even given the salary...lol @casspi averaging on a double double...clutchfans want every bench player to be an all star...
I think Casspi answered tonight the question put out in this thread. I think he has shown that he was a steal. His versatility is great for a bench player. McHale can use him for almost any task he needs. I still think that he will be a serious contributor in the playoffs. I couldn't care less for his low scoring games. His overall impact is always positive.
He's not going to be a double double guy off the bench. Casspi isn't ever going to average double figure rebounds even if he plays big minutes. There's only 12 guys in the entire league that currently average double figure rebounds.
To believe that Casspi can average double-double is surely very overoptimistic But I do believe that giving some opportunity in year or two Omri can became 12/6/3 guy off the bench which IMHO would be great for him and for the team.
Wow, I completely read that as double digit as in double digit scoring. Yeah, no way he gets double digit rebounding, ever. Doubtful for double digit scoring.
If Omri Casspi can keep position and keep the ball in his hands than he'll be a great rebounder. He can only get better.
Wasn't able to catch the Portland game but just saw Omri's highlights on youtube. I really liked his pass to Bev and his drive on Lopez. And his "Dirk leg" drives are starting to fall more often. If he can turn this into a reliable move he can become a very dangerous player.
1. If you look at my posts, I have never tried to conceal that Casspi is the reason I came here. Do you think that being a "COF" should inhibit me from commenting on his performance or progress? 2. In what way do you suppose that your post contributes to this thread or to this forum?
