We all loved it being kids. The last 10 years have changed significantly. Unemployment is getting worse, and the money that was once abundant in this city has vanished.

Because a lot of the people who moved here and are in their late teens/early 20's are douchenozzles. They'll talk crap about Houston while proclaiming New Orleans as paradise. They are also known to scream "WHO DAT?!" for no reason...

On a serious note though...to those people: Move back to Louisiana then. I don't want you in my city anymore than you want to be here apparently. Suck on that mofos.

The Rockets made it out of the 2nd round.
The Astros made it to the world series.
    The Dynamo won 2 championships.
We lost the Houston Coments franchise.
We now have a football franchise called the Houston Texans.

Houston will never see another championship after what happened in downtown during the glory days.

The increased population has taken a toll on the city, which has not kept up with improvements to infrastructure...esp evident in traffic.

You might also want to visit museums and culture. Houston has a thriving and talented arts community. Much more so than other Texas cities, really. Ballet, opera, theatre, art, and design all thrive in select communities here.

If we are lucky, we will choose to develop a reliable mass-transportation system that integrates with our auto culture allowing both kinds of traffic - something like the Monorail that Bob Lanier destroyed when he took over from Kathy Whitmire. ;)

Also, you may notice that FM 101.1 is no longer a Rock music station, although you may already be aware of this.

whoa! Houston has changed my fellow Houstonians, i'm sure a lot of ya'll don't want to say this but after Katrina, you must NOT have wanted a group of people from N.O. there, but I lived in N.O. also for a few years, the food is good, the people are kind, but the state itself... Texas in many years beyond Louisiana. Although I do love the LSU Tigers football, and was there in Baton Rouge to witness Sabon's teams rip apart all SEC rivals.

The Richmond Strip is DEAD. No one goes there. Midtown/Downtown is the new spot.

Aren't you still pretty much a kid?

Also, LSU fans are by far the trashiest football fans I ever had the unfortunate opportunity to hang out around. Between LSU fans and West Virginia...that's a competition no one wants to win.

There are still plenty of hot girls. Thats really all that you need to know. And really, this generation of young girls is much "looser" than the generation above them.

    Score.

Not sure what city you live in, but Houston's light rail is about as long as tinywang.

Not a tourist town... Dallas and Houston aren't really places to visit.

San Antonio and Austin are those places in Texas.

Yep. I wish it was more attractive for tourism.
