How good would the Lakers have been if they had Marc Gasol instead of Pau?

Boozer is not even as good as Pau and he wasn't available at the time. So no that trade COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.

Marc Gasol was a second rounder, nobody cared about Marc Gasol back then. Jazz wouldn't have insisted on getting Marc Gasol.

Even Mitch Kupchak said they didn't need to get rid of Marc Gasol in that trade and probably could have sent somebody else.

 

If they didn't get Pau, they likely would get Randolf. Randolf was traded in 08 offseason for Darko, I don't see why he's not available at deadline.

Randolf + Marc > Pau.

Whether it be Zach Randolph, Carlos Boozer, Al Jefferson or anybody else within that range.

The Lakers could have had their cake and ate it too if they had just kept Marc Gasol and gotten a second player (not as good as Pau but still good).

 

umm i didnt skip that i said i don't now what would have happened. All i know is the Lakers pulled off one of the most lopsided trades and won two championships because of that. Why are you guys talking about what more the Lakers could have gotten in all these hypothetical scenarios???

Maybe they could have gotten Randolf maybe they would have gotten Darko.. who knows??? they won two rings.. isnt that the ultimate goal??

This is really getting quite stupid. The trade only worked because it worked out for both sides even though it was a lopsided trade.
