It's too early to say that Lin is a downgrade in PG position. Lin started slow but is really getting himself together lately. Give it a whole season. then compare. Dragic is struggling lately and Lowry is hurt. Also I'm not sure whether Lowry will fit well with the team. Raptors players called him out. Dragic in December: 12.6ppg/2.6rpg/5.8apg shooting 41%/30%3pt. Lin in December: 14.1ppg/3.2rpg/6.8apg shooting 49%/34%3pt.
I think if Lin and Harden can divvy up the P&Rs between each other evenly as well as include each other as the picker or roller we can definitely keep up this play. There defense will have to continue to imporve. I'm kind of surprised at how well MM has been able to hold his own against opposing PFs.... I'd expect him to be lit up by guys like Z-Bo, Bloozer, and KG. Oh and why the hell do the Lakers need to be mentioned every time someone adds their projection of other Western Conference teams, that sh!ts beyond annoying. They suck and will continue sucking. So suck it Fakers! Whoooo!!! /end rant
Well I'm a Laker fan and I had the Rockets pegged as a 4-8 W Conference Darkhorse before Harden was even on board. You guys are good IMO the best transition basketball in the league right now. Best part is everyone seems to know their role now and shares the ball. Most people writing off the Rockets earlier this season were blaming youth, which is kinda funny because the Rockets have been exploiting their youth to run teams to death.
They are obviously much better than the 27 W's I predicted prior to the season .... Serve me my crow.
At the beginning of the season, I thought a >.500 record would have been a successful season. Now, I think we could actually get the 5th seed and get to the second round of the playoffs. I want to have Morey and Harden's love child.
5th would be great. 5-6 should be the aim since 7-8th seed means going up against most likely OKC or Clippers. I like our chances against MEM/SAS more. That said, my highest this team gets is 6th - Denver is surging as their schedule gets easier. Just need to beat down on Minny and Portland when we see them, hopefully they don't make playoffs and start sloughing off players.
At the beginning of the season, all I was hoping for this team was a play off spot. Right now the Rockets are playing with house money. Anything above the 8th seed is gravy. The season is still only a little over 1/3 of the way through, but a middling seed may actually be in the cards. Wouldn't that be a shocker if the Rockets ended up with a 5th or 6th seed going into the play offs?
Health has been good. No, Delfino's decision to eat Ginobili's tiny dirty sausage doesn't count. Let's keep our fingers crossed and see how far this team can go.
Yay. Im in your sig!! Kyrie is a young beast... but one that can't play any defense, sigh.. He is as almost as gifted as Harden on offense, but is 10 times worse on defense. But he's only 21 and there's hope yet!
It feels like this team has been blowing out everybody, except the elite teams. We match up well with just about everybody, excluding OKC. This teams ability to run, run, run combined with Hardens evolving superstar status make us a dangerous 5-8 seed. Jeremy Lin is underrated. Guy makes intelligent passes that lead to the easiest baskets. He is better than Dragic and Lowry in regards to playmaking.
Far exceeded my expectations so far... Serving Crow could be a booming business this time of the year...
