That's where I predicted we would be all along. I said that we would probably be around the 6th seed before the season started, and here we are.
Except now we aren't playing maxed out vets and instead have the youngest team in the league. Not to mention a 23 year old superstar locked in for 5 more years. The outlook is not bleak at all.
I'm waiting to see how they do when they have to play a string of back-to-backs or 4 out of 5 nights. It's tough to play up-tempo when the legs start giving out.
Much different with a blown up team with no Yao or Tmac contracts and 30 somethings filling up a roster. This reboot is more in line with what some tankers wanted.
Look at the teams we've beaten in 4 out f the last 5 games. Boston, Philly,Knicks and Memphis. In those games our offence has been near flawless. To score on Memphis which had an incridible streak of keeping teams under a 100 is an achivement. In those games, outside of the Raptors fiasco, we've scored over a 100 and lin is averaging 17 points 7 assists and Harden is averaging 29 points 6 assists 5 boards on 60% f shooting . Weve averaged over a 112 points and kept our opponents under a 100 . This proves once these two click, we can be lethal and more importantly, they can co-exsist.
How many games/losses this year Rockets were blownout as opposed to games which were close to the say last 3 minutes? Anyone remmember? 1.Utah (1st game), 2.Lakers (1st game), 3.OKC 4.SAS(1st game) 5?
Of course it's not a championship team...stop that. That should never have been the expectation coming into this season. What's true of them that's good is that: 1. they're fun to watch; 2. they have a piece to build around for the first time in a very long time; 3. the future looks bright. That's enough for now. I want them to make the playoffs...but if they don't, I'm fine with it....because they're at least pointed in a direction now instead of being littered with older players and making pointless Camby-esque additions in an attempt to sneak into the 8th spot.
key words there, '1st game' theyve grown alot since those '1st games' you have to understand that within your analysis
without tanking unfreakingbelievable gmofthefreakinyear already. hands down if he doesn't win its a travershamockery
The schedule I think is to Rockets favor, but 6 more road games. 30 games against sub 500 team and 26 above 500 teams. Games remaining: 56 (25 Home, 31 Away) vs. +.500: 30, vs. West: 38
I can't really say. Because I think they'll taper off towards the end of the season. We're talking about an entire roster that has NEVER played this many minutes before in their careers. Stamina issues has to come into play come March and April, or even earlier. Our soon to be heavy road schedule is also generally a huge problems for a young team. I still think this team is built more for next year more than this year.
I think we are actually BETTER than our current record. So that goes against those that think we are overachieving early. We are better than our record. By the way, I wanted to wish everyone here LOF/LOH included, including Dei, a very Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year. With sincerity, no joke.
That's just about the most pessimistic post. You are clearly not as excited about this team as the next fan. Same soup different bowl theory does not apply in this case for a couple of reasons. 1. On most nights we will have the best player on the court. 2. We have the youngest team in the NBA in both age and experience. They should be better post all-star break than pre all-star break. Guys like Greg Smith are just learning how to play.
