What are you talking about? Dirk is one of the best at posting ppl up and shooting over them. Dirk finish with both hands. I dislike Dirk but still..

lebron tmac kobe all have post moves too.

btw, this is where the plus minus stats can be a bit misleading. the heat were a five hundred team after twenty games without shaq to start the season.

Without Wade they'd have been a .200 team, IMO.

Well...duh! You think Carmelo could have led a team with a frontcourt of Udonis Haslem and Alonzo Mourning to better than .500?

Without Wade and with Shaq, they were 4-1. Without Wade, regardless of whether Shaq played, they were 4-3. I know it's a small sample size, but it's plenty to easily throw out the idea that they would have went 16-56 without Wade.

And what would their record have been if it was Wade out instead of Shaq?

For the season, per 48 minutes:
    Code:
    [COLOR=Navy]		Min	Heat	Opp	+/-[/COLOR]
    Wade+Shaq	1425	106.9	96.6	+10.3
    only Wade	1462	100.8	94.8	+6.0
    only Shaq	378	94.5	98.0	-3.5

Granted, Shaq's backup (Mourning) is much better than Wade's backup. Still, this is a pretty good indication of who the more valuable player on the team is. The Heat, without Shaq, and a relatively healthy Alonzo Mourning, could still make the playoffs in the East. The Heat, without Wade, would struggle big time.

Wade is the player we all wished Francis could be.

LeBron is the player we all hope McGrady can remain on that level.

Anthony is . . . uh . . . um . . . Well, I guess he can be the "third option" we've been talking about. But I'd rather have Battier on my team when I have T-Mac and Yao.

I think Carmelo Anthony is one of the toughest 1 on 1 matchups WHEN he decides to stick in the post. I can't get the exact quote from Bruce Bowen, but he merely stated that Anthony is his toughest player to defend, and it's only tougher when he uses his size and plays in the post. Artest added on saying, the more Anthony stays around the basket, the harder he is to defend.

If you have him on your team, you have to keep a specific set of players. Who?

Kurt Thomas is a start, Camby(already there), is a great fit.Micheal Finley at SG or Latrell Sprewell of the past 2 years(excluding)this last year though). Andre Miller is arguably the worst fit next to him at PG. Someone with more of a scoring, 14-18ppg and a strong jump shot can do it, Mike Bibby, Kirk Hinrich. These guys can live off of jump shots, and really spread it out for Carmelo in a 1-4 High type offense, which is ideal for a player like Carmelo.

I hate wade (as a basketball player, not as a person) ...but i cant deny his talent...T.T

Melo is showing his talent during this World Champs, but i believe that he cannot really be compared to the likes of Lebron, Kobe or Tracy...

regardless of everything...yao ming is the best

FORGET LEBRON...YAO MING IS THE KING

That was a weak example. Melo got a rebound with four rockets around him and got rejected by Yao. Melo wasn't trying to post Yao up. Do you really think Yao iis fast enough to cover Melo in the post? He can't even cover Marquis Daniel one on one.

At least you are honest and clear-minded. There's plenty of people here who try to deny his greatness as a basketball player.

Please, don't embarass yourself...yes I do think he is fast enough. Regardless of anyone else around..it was Melo trying to make the highlight reel by trying to do a two-handed deep throat throw down on Yao Ming and twice Yao Ming said no. All he has to do is stand there with his arms up and alter or reject any post player in the NBA. The risk of shot blocking is that eventually someone will dunk over a shot blocker and thats ok...it happens. Why do you bring up M. Daniels--he is a slashing Guard that is only 6'6" and 199 pounds  ...Carmelo is a forward and slower at 6'8" and 230. So, Yes I think Yao is fast enough to cover anyone 5 feet from the basket. Does not mean he will block every shot. But please, Melo is not all that...there is more talent in Yao Mings left hand than in all of melo's body.

Anthony as a third option would be great on our team. He's not as selfish as some people say. He provides rebounding and is a good shooter. A lot of you would criticize his shot selection, but no one else on his team can hit a shot (den- last in nba in 3s) and with two other superstars on the court with him, he wouldn't have to work that hard to get his shots. Look at how he's doing on Team USA with other all-star players on the court. He's making shots and playing a good all-around game. He'd be a great addition, if his salary weren't so high, but maybe there's a way to work out something?

Give more credit to Carmelo than being a THIRD option on a team. On the Rockets it'd a be a toss-up between him and Tmac for who gets the offensive touches. Not totally on skillset or fit to the team, more on it being that Melo has to get his touches cuz he considers himself a number one. Can you imagine if Detroit drafted him instead of Darko? Maybe only on that team with Larry Brown proving a point would he have been a 3rd option.

I think Melo's in the top 12-15 range, who's still 21 and is coming around. Still, he's a volume shot taker who needs to improve in other areas like passing. I think his long range shooting is overrated and can stand to improve on making from 3 point distance. It was the knock on Lebron but I think its more on Melo really.... Finally, I DO believe the Lebron vs Carmelo thing is a part of what drives him. Its straight "Lebron did this so now its time for Carmelo to get his" kind of approach with him. After winning an NCAA championship and the Lebron comparison he's just got too much to prove to just be a regular fit onto a team.

I don't think Carmello can be judged on his WCOB performance alone. It's a different game. He's a good player and young so he can improve, but it all depends on one's teammates. If you have good teammates you always play better, cause then you have more scoring options to pass the ball.

There are better palyers than him in his position, so if someone tried to build a team around him, with him as the star, they'd prolly fail(or be really lucky), for the moment at least. Even players like Kobe can't support a team on their own as is evident.
