You're right, MadMax, not every player that is in the Hall has 500 homers. However what I am considering is the era that Bagwell is playing in - 500 is a just a number I yanked out of somewhere. Many baseball gurus think OPS (On base plus slugging) is the most important stat an offensive player can excel at. Last I checked Bagwell is in the top 50 lifetime, I think around 25. Bonds and on eother player had a higher career OPS currently. He is the only 1B to have a 30-30. He is one of the best defensive 1B in the game. PSJ, You've assumed that Bags can maintain his performance for another 7 years.... mighty risky and lofty expectations. I think he is a lock for the Hall, though. I just think if you can hit .300 and average 30+ HRs a year, for over 10 years, you'll get into the Hall of Fame.
