You are forgeting something important. Luis Scola is not the kind of player who plays to get certain numbers. You can expect that of a guy like Iverson, Tmac, Gilbert Arenas, who will try to get 20 points even if they had to shoot 50 shots. You can expect from luis to step up if the situation ask for it. You can expect from him to increase his numbers in playoffs games, tough games or meaning games. But you can´t expect him to try to catch the rebound if he is blocking his man on defense, because some other team mate will do it. Or you can´t expect him to shoot if other one in the team is on fire. So.... don´t expect regular numbers from Luis, expect regular effort from him. Are you agree?

I think he is at his peak now. 13-9 are not shabby numbers, especially for a late-2nd round pick. He may make slight improvements to his offense, but I don't see him being an All-Star playing for this team.

15-10 with more minutes and lesser fouls.

He's a good role player. He moves to open spots, he's a really good rebounder and his jumper has gotten better. The problem if it is one is that he needs Yao to attract attention. Scola suffers the most next to the ultimate sufferer I shane when teams don't double yao. When teams single yao, it means they stay close enough to contest his shot. Even then he will still rebound and run the floor. To me and DD always argue with me is he's AC Green. I think or he has shown when teams don't leave him like La did, he struggled big time. You have to honor and respect his game though. He is at his ceiling , but he can get a little better.

He is pretty close to his ceiling but with a few more minutes he could certainly be a 15/10 guy. Even if he does not get any better I am still thrilled to have him in Houston.

15 and 9 is probably his peak as everyone said.
    He's already reached his prime...

At age 29 he's probably close to his ceiling. Not that there's anything wrong with that considering he's one of the best values in the league considering what he brings, what we pay him and how we got him. He's a steal in every sense of the word.

Naturally, his numbers would go up with increased minutes. I like him right where he is at, though.

I think Luis has not yet reached his ceiling. If he develops left handed shots and every once in awhile knocks down a 3, that will confuse our opponents. I agree that more minutes and more shots obviously will improve his stats. At the international level (Olympics, FIBA, Euroleague) he already is an all star. Why shouldn't he be an NBA all star?

I agree with the 15/10 folks. and on our team, that's pretty impressive. if he went to a team like Sac-town, perhaps 18/10

If he can extend his mid range jumper to maybe a three but that would be me dreaming. Overall he got solid mid range jumper and post game( he was schooling odom :D ).

I think Scola is pretty much peaking, which is absolutely fine with me. He fits he roll on this team like a glove. We don't need 20/12 from him everynight, we need his hustle and energy which he brings EVERY night. Scola is easily my second favorite Rocket (to Mr. Ming).

15/10 seems about right, with the significant talented players and newly added wing players. I think his prime will be this and next season.

He is at his prime he just does not get the ball enough to show his offensive skill. If you look at what he did 2 years ago when they won the gold in olympics he was the main guy and he earned the valuable player of the tournamnet as he was doing everything for htat team. I'm just saying I think he can carry a team if need be which clearly is not the case because of Yao on this team but he showed that int he playoffs after Yao went down.

imho, i think Luis Scola will be as good as Yao's health allows him to be. I love his hustle and his basketball IQ, but w/o Yao, he doesn't get the wide open 13-15 footers.

It all depends on his touches but I agree with everyone else, even if his ceiling is only a little better, he would be one of the best damn role players or undervalued stars in the NBA.

We saw in the Lakers series what Scola's limitations are when Yao is not around. The other team can front him just as well as they front Yao. Scola becomes completely neutralized because he does not have the athleticism or shooting range to punish fronters. He is a great complement to Yao and this team though and definitely can be a starting power forward on a championship team. If he could add a 3 pointer he could be an All-Star.
